Be Ageless, Treat Your Acne Scars

Tags: , , ,

The skin is a continuous organ of the body that serves as a protection to our valuable assets. Any burn, injury or any other trauma to it can definitely cause scar formation. Imagine having a fine piece of silk; a single tear even if it’s small can make a big difference on its appearance.

Now human as we are, we will have experiences that can tear our skin; be it self-inflicted, or consequentially. Acne Treatments depends on the type of skin that you have. It could be severe, moderate, or mild form. And sometimes your doctor will combine treatments in order to get the best results and to avoid the development of drug-resistant bacteria.

Treatments for acne could include lotions or gels that you put to the affected area of your skin. But treatment does not stop here; treatment of acne may also be done through oral medications, where the patient takes medications by mouth. The treatment for mild acne includes pimples, whiteheads or blackheads.

It is done by gently cleansing it with mild soap, such as Dove or Neutrogena. Other treatment includes the application of Benzoyl Peroxide or Salicylic Acid. But it would always be best to consult a dermatologist before engaging in these treatments. This way you would know whether you are allergic to this kind of applications or not.

Moreover your dermatologist can also give you stringer prescriptions or creams. In treating moderate to severe acne, always remember that sometimes your skin condition needs stronger medications or a combination of therapies. Remember that deeper blemishes such as cysts and nodules are most likely to leave scars. This is the reason why your dermatologist would recommend that you take oral antibiotics sooner; this is to start the healing process.

Always remember that effective acne treatment, starts in you. You must follow your doctor’s advice religiously if you want to achieve the best results. Most skin condition treatments like acne take time. It often takes 6 to 8 weeks for acne to improve after you start your treatment. Other treatments also show awkward signs of healing, like it gets worse first before it gets better.

Treatment for acne scars may improve or remove scars. But sometimes treatment combinations works best. The treatments would include Laser Resurfacing. This process uses a carefully controlled laser that burns away scar tissues. The Collagen Injections. This process smoothens the skin by plumping the skin under the scar. The Dermabrasion.

This process uses a whirling wire brush, which skims off scar tissues. And lastly the Chemabrasion. This process uses chemicals to peel away the top layers of the skin. Lastly if your skin condition hasn’t improved after several tries, consult your doctor immediately. Doctors usually recommend oral retinoid. Doctors prescribe this medication as a last resort, because it has some rare but serious side effects plus, it’s expensive.
