Health experts have always advocated the significance of incorporating regular exercise into a health regimen. It has always been pointed out that a well-balanced diet and an exercise regimen augmented by health supplements are the best ways to go if one is in the pursuit of health and fitness. Just like any form of aerobic exercises, swimming delivers rewards for the heart and the lungs by strengthening those two vital organs.





The body’s ability to use oxygen is also improved, and over time, heart rate and blood pressure are decreased. Breathing is enhanced as well. As a form of low impact aerobics, swimming increases stamina and it can give a sense of rejuvenation. A lot of people swim regularly for weight loss and maintenance and to improve their body contours.

Swimming is basically a pleasurable physical activity and oftentimes, those who have enough resources have swimming pools in their yards. All over the world, swimming has been regarded as one of the most popular recreational activities and most countries include it as a sport. By no doubt, due to its appeal, a sizeable percentage of individuals engage in swimming, and in fact, the number of injuries related to this physical activity is comparatively lesser than those of other sports.

Aside from being an exercise regimen and a sport, there are those who consider swimming as a profession. Some individuals work as lifeguards in pools or at beaches to rescue those who are unable to swim or having problems in the water. Expert swimmers on the other hand often work as coaches to teach and guide amateurs.

Such experts in this form of sports teach amateur swimmers techniques, such as resistance and various strokes. It is generally advisable that swimmers be in appropriate swimming costume to reduce friction and any obstructions. While swimming, the human body begins to gain buoyancy in the water until a swimmer floats effortlessly.

However, water offers more resistance than air, and aside from swimming, various water activities such as water toning, water therapy and water aerobics can be instrumental for metabolism enhancement, and relief from fatigue and exhaustion. When an individual wishes to engage in swimming, it is recommended that they do so under the guidance of an expert coach to ensure their safety while doing the activity.
