Ease And Efficiency When Walking To Lose Weight

2008-09-17Most people do it all the time. They have to, and it just is. It is carried out unknowingly and people are oftentimes oblivious of its significance. Yes, it’s walking. You walk all around your house, and from your house to the car. And then from the car to your workplace.

So it is with many and all other places. And then again, quite a number of people find walking unappealing. It entails effort, and not many people are up for it. But when you come to think of it, walking is beneficial in so many ways. And especially when done deliberately.

By this, it means walking as an exercise. You’ve probably heard it when health experts say that “walking is the best exercise”. It is true for many reasons. When walking to lose weight, you can burn 100,800 calories in a year- without dieting. That’s a relatively simplier and undemanding means of losing 28 pounds in a year.

But think when you complement walking to lose weight with dieting, or better yet, intensively. There is a common and popular term “brisk walking”. Up the tempo and walk at a brisk pace for one hour a day everyday and better results will be delivered. Furthermore, incorporate a healthy diet scheme into your weight loss program.



That’s when you can get the optimum benefits of walking to lose weight. Maintain your daily calorie intake and walk regularly. Weight loss results are most likely to take place. But decrease your calorie intake by 200 in a day and you can lose 50 pounds in a year. And isn’t “you” 50 pounds lesser a worthy reason for walking regularly and doing away with soda? There are many other ways of losing weight, and you might have tried some of them.

There’s tae bo and dieting, for instance. It’s another of the effective ways of losing pounds and inches. But it wouldn’t be as carefree and “effortless” as walking. Try walking outdoors, and you find yourself unconcerned that you are doing exercise. You get to breathe fresh air, you see beautiful sights and you get to be in the company of other people.

Have enough space for walking and a good pair of shoes, and you will feel it when they say that “walking is the best exercise”. The fact is, you don’t need to do strenuous activity or exercise to lose weight. It has to do with regularity and proper pacing. But most of all, in the goal of achieving health and fitness, you have to be enthusiastic about what it is that you are doing.

A health and fitness scheme shouldn’t feel like a heavy task or drudgery at all. So “breathe easy” and relax when you exercise. Do- take action- yet at the same time let go. Loosen up. Only then can you find that being fit and healthy is a delight. And you can easily incorporate it into your lifestyle and it eventually becomes your lifestyle.

You don’t need to strain yourself. Find what it is which truly appeals to you in a health and fitness scheme and do it. It can be walking or any other aerobic exercise, or any other sport or hobby. Being fit and healthy is a vital means for you to show concern and esteem for yourself.

In doing so, you will reap countless of fulfilling rewards and you will find that living becomes more worthwhile.
