Not many people welcome the idea of aging. In fact, there are those who detest it, as if aging is a dreaded disease. But can one ever escape from aging when the time is due? Definitely not - nobody can beat aging. Why contend with the course of nature when nature has the ultimate say.
It is then best to accept the reality of aging. When one is open and ready to this inevitable reality, then they are said to be aging with grace. Aging with grace is actually a wonderful thing. Aging with grace is more of a mental perspective rather than obsessing about youth.

Obsessing about youth is perhaps one of the most disheartening crusade in which one could engage in. Youth is fleeting and temporal and along with it often comes folly. Hardly does being wise go with being young. What does this have to do with aging with grace? Aging with grace is accepting that aging is a blessing.
This can rather be a disagreeable notion to accept. Aging may be connoted with loss of youth, but it doesn’t necessarily mean loss of beauty. After all, beauty is not exclusive to youth. Wine tastes better as it ages. So it is with men and women who have aged. Time has ripened them with wisdom and good judgment.
When one acknowledges this, then it is possible- aging with grace. Everybody is bound to face up with aging. So it’s best to be prepared for it. Aging with grace means being content with the idea that the years will fade away youthfulness. Along with this though, the years also have something valuable to offer- understanding.
Aging with grace means looking back at the years and valuing the lessons they have taught. Aging with grace is being grateful to experience for having molded one’s character. Aging with grace means loving oneself all the more despite wrinkles and skin sagging or age spots. Aging with grace means taking care of oneself all the more.
It is thinking that “Time has made me stronger rather than becoming helpless”. One should embrace the idea of growing old gracefully. Yes, one can resort to anti-aging products and anti-aging supplements. Take more time for exercise and regularly visiting the doctor. These are the physical aspects of aging with grace.
But attitude, this has so much to do with growing old gracefully. It is thinking that “I have had the best of life and my experiences are my treasures. I have come this far despite the storms which life had given me”. Growing old gracefully is acknowledging and accepting, loving the person that time has molded.
It is then that one can still live with zest and enthusiasm despite aging. It is in looking forward still that the coming days have more to offer. Aging is not the end of living. It is in fact its culmination, when life’s purpose has come to fruition. One can then sow what they have reaped out of the years.
Lending to others what life has given them. With this, aging can only be fulfilling with no room for regrets.
