It may sound selfish, but most people want to be thought of as beautiful and desirable. If you happen to want to be regarded so, then its basically normal. We groom, decorate and embellish ourselves to achieve the goal of beauty. Why is this, you may ask. All of us generally have a deep primal need to be noticed, accepted and loved.
And beauty being connoted with the good and the positive can make us garner those. And so the quest for beauty continues, from eras of long ago until the present. Countless of means and techniques have been devised for men and women to make themselves beautiful. Of all these techniques, one which has withstood the ages is Ayurveda.

What is Ayurveda and how does it relate to beauty? Ayurveda relates to this quality not only on the superficial, physical sense, but all-encompassingly. The Ayurvedic approach expands the possibilities of beauty, it cultivates the person within, not just on the outward. It has to do with appreciating trueness in yourself, others and the world.
In Ayurveda, a person is regarded as beautiful not because of a mask that they wear. Beauty is not thought of as somebody else’s idea, nor is it the latest trend. Rather, what makes a person beautiful is because of the reflection of their inner self. The radiance of the inner you is reflected on the outside.
And this is beauty which is ultimately honest, individual and timeless- that which is of the truest sense. In an Ayurvedic technique, you will find that being beautiful is effortless. Your actions go with the flow of nature, not against it. You may be practicing discipline, but it is one which you do with pleasure.
Practicing Ayurveda means doing things which are enjoyable in themselves. Oil massages, for instance, is a delightful experience. So is eating good food, or inhaling delicious aroma. These are some of the Ayurvedic techniques towards being beautiful, those which are pleasant to engage in. The unique perspective of this approach will make you see yourself in a fresh, new light.
The fulfillment creates a sense of joy in you and you eventually make a commitment to yourself. You begin to feel love for yourself and your body, and making yourself beautiful inside and out becomes an inherent tendency. Ayurveda concerns itself with both health and beauty. One needs the other, both should go with one another.
Health creates beauty, and vice versa is also true. What happens if you are constantly fatigued or suffer from digestive imbalances and insomnia? These are manifestations of ill health, and they can strip you of that radiance which make you beautiful. They say that those who are beautiful (physically or character-wise) enjoy happiness at the same time.
It is because they feel an inner sense of love and appreciation towards themselves and to others as well. These are what often make a person beautiful. The inward love and appreciation that they feel reflected on the outside. Beauty is a thing they claim not only for themselves, but something shared with others and the world.
