Better Oral Health With Natural Gum Disease Remedies

Tags: , , ,

Good oral health and hygiene should be among the list of a person’s priority. After all, the teeth and the oral cavity all in all need conscientious care. Otherwise they can wreak havoc on total health, and yes, on the well-being at that. Take the case of bad breath. Bad breath does not cause so much of a health detriment.

But what about the social consequences of bad breath? Certainly they are not negligible. Or gum disease. May people may not be so mindful of it. Gum disease is of varying degrees. From the mild to the chronic which can lead to heart disease. Gum disease in its early stages may be inconspicuous.

And so many people disregard it. Often, the case is that a disease will become chronic when neglected. So it is with gum disease. Gum disease can come to the point of being a discomfort when it is aggravated. But first, what is gum disease? Gum disease is also known as periodontal disease.

And it may not be a pleasurable experience. Although some sorts of this disease may initially not be painful, it can degenerate. When it becomes severe and moves on to the advanced stage, that is where the real trouble begins. Other than causing a possible heart disease, gum disease can also get in the way of a beautiful smile.

This goes to say that the gums have to be well tended to to prevent the onset of a disease. Disease develops in the gums when the gums become infected and inflamed. What are the gums? The gums are the connecting fiber that supports and surrounds the teeth as well as the bone of the teeth.

Periodontal disease is the leading cause of tooth loss among adults ages 30 and above. What causes gum disease? The common culprit behind it is bacterial plaque. When bacterial plaque is not removed from the teeth, it can accumulate. It can then lead to the formation of calculus or tartar, a hardened substance.

Gum disease in its early stage can be reversed. This is where natural gum disease remedies come in handy. To come to the rescue to restore healthy gums. Two of the most effective natural remedies for this disease are Vitamin C and Vitamin D. First, there is Vitamin C, a potent antioxidant.

This antioxidant helps in the repair of the gum’s connective fibers. Vitamin C also hastens the regeneration of the bones that might have been damaged by periodontal disease. Then there is Vitamin D, a widely available natural gum disease remedy. Vitamin D is an effective anti-inflammatory agent, and it can reduce the symptoms of the disease.

The same can be said with tea tree oil gel. Tea tree oil gel is proven to be effective in treating severe or chronic gingivitis. This is a form of periodontal disease. Tea tree oil can help reduce gum bleeding and gingivitis. Then there is cranberry juice which can efficiently prevent bacteria from sticking on to the teeth.

This can then help in keeping the teeth clean and prevent the formation of plaque.
