Ways To Manage Pendulum Blood Sugar

Tags: , , ,

What is pendulum blood sugar? One can derive its meaning contextually. Blood sugar is used to measure the amount of glucose in the blood. And what is a pendulum? A pendulum is an object which swings from one end to another, in extremes. Pendulum blood sugar then is blood sugar which swings in between extremes.

From high to low, and low to high, that is. Such is why pendulum blood sugar is also termed as swinging blood sugar. As said, blood sugar is the means to measure glucose in the blood. The body gets most of its energy from glucose. The pancreas produces insulin, and insulin is the hormone needed in processing glucose.

When the body has irregularities in producing insulin, it will also have problems processing glucose. In this regard, glucose can also be not converted into energy. This condition can lead to serious mental and physical problems. A normal blood sugar is essential in living a healthy, happy life. By normal blood sugar, it means levels of blood sugar ranging from 70mg to 150mg.

Abnormal blood sugar level is anything which falls above or below this range. Pendulum blood sugar is regarded as abnormal blood sugar. Pendulum blood sugar then can fluctuate from below to above the normal blood sugar level range. Pendulum blood sugar or abnormal blood sugar normally produces a host of symptoms.

Some of the most common are exhaustion, anxiety, hunger, weight loss and blurred vision. The same can be said with skin and eye problems and confusion. In extreme cases, abnormal or pendulum blood sugar can result to coma and even death. The fact is, blood sugar normally fluctuates. Healthy, normal people experience a swing in blood sugar levels.

This usually happens after eating. Blood sugar normally rises after eating. This blood sugar fluctuation is not pendulum blood sugar. True pendulum blood sugar is when blood sugar levels swing from high to low several times all throughout the day. As this happens, the earlier said symptoms can then manifest.

Once a person experiences the said symptoms, medical attention should then be sought. Pendulum blood sugar symptoms, when neglected can have grave consequences. Once a person experiences possible pendulum blood sugar symptoms, the doctor may give a blood test. The blood test may determine the current blood sugar, but it may not establish pendulum blood sugar.

Pendulum blood sugar swings, and at the time of the visit to the doctor, it may be normal. With pendulum blood sugar however, blood sugar irregularities may occur after leaving the doctor’s office. What the doctor may do when they suspect pendulum blood sugar is to give test strips. The patient can then test their own blood sugar every hour or so with the test strips.

Through these tests, it can then be determined if indeed there are abnormal swings in the patient’s blood sugar. And once the patient has been diagnosed with pendulum blood sugar, treatment measures can be employed. The doctor will then work with the patient so as to stabilize their blood sugar levels.
