2007-05-09In today’s health conscious world with significant medical breakthroughs and continued researches of medical experts and health advocates, it is easier to spot symptoms of Diabetes in the early stages, which is known as “pre-diabetes.” Discovering and taking notice of early symptoms of Diabetes gives you a fighting chance of preventing and better-management of diabetes altogether.

Experts have put together symptoms of Diabetes and advices that if you have two or more of these, you should seriously consider getting yourself checked out. First notable of the symptoms of Diabetes is if you find you are excessively thirsty, not just after extreme exercise or hot weather. Second, if you seem to constantly have a dry mouth - even if you have just had a drink.

Third, frequency of urination. Fourth and the more pronounced of the given symptoms of Diabetes - you have unexpected weight loss (even though you may be constantly hungry and eating well. Fifth, you feel lethargic; as if you've got no energy; weak and tired all the time. Sixth of said symptoms of Diabetes and best heeded too - sometimes your vision is blurry - and be careful, untreated eye problems caused through diabetes can lead to blindness.

Seven, you have cuts or sores (especially on your feet) that are slow to heal. And eight noted symtoms of Diabetes is excessive itching or soreness in the genital area or yeast infections (which can be misdiagnosed as thrush). If you are aged over 45 and are overweight it would also be advisable to have a diabetes check with corresponding check as well on the presence of the mentioned symptoms of Diabetes feared globally.

The symptoms of Diabetes would vary though if one has Type 1 Diabetes or Type 2 Diabetes. One of the main health problems in the world, it is not something that can be ignored both financially and health-wise. When left on its own, Diabetes can spell a lot of serious complications ranging from heart disease to liver problems.

And it all begins with signs and symptoms of Diabetes. Type 1 Diabetes refers to those “Insulin-dependent” with symptoms that are far more serious and very severe at the onset of the illness. The symptoms include excessive thirst and excessive drinking, excessive urination also known as Polyuria, loss of weight or difficulty in weight gain, excessive hunger and eating.

This is the type of Diabetes where inspite of seeming appetite, there is still unexplained weight loss. Added symptoms are constant tiredness and susceptibility to infections. In Type 1 diabetes “Diabetic ketoacidosis” comes up, a state where the sugar levels are very high, thus the occurrence of collapse and/or coma.

At the onset of Type 1 Diabetes, the condition is serious right on that also needs corresponding immediate intervention and treatment. It cannot be managed with mere lifestyle change or diabetes diet nor aggressive move for healthy living and healthy eating habits. Established Type 2 Diabetes Symptoms include excessive thirst, excessive urination, excessive hunger, unexplained weight loss, slow healing sores, dry and itchy skin, loss of feeling in the feet and tingling in the feet and blurry vision.

This is the type that is best manage and is manageable on early detection. Knowing and understanding the symptoms of Diabetes is part of said early detection that will help the diabetics and the people around them cope with the problem.
