Liver disease has affected and is affecting the lives of millions around the world particularly some 10% of Americans who have been affected by a liver, biliary or gallbladder disease. So vast the number of affliction in people suffering from liver disease with the community unaware of the extent to which it truly affects the society.

Liver disease is one that can remain undetected for years without pronounced symptoms. Yet when it does, typically Liver disease typically nausea, jaundice, fatigue, depression, reduced libido and muscle aches among others. There are numerous misconceptions about the liver. Unknown to many, the liver is the only organ that can regenerate itself, and is responsible for removing toxins from our bodies.

Another largely unknown fact is that, even though they may not be alcoholics, social drinkers also run the risk developing a serious liver disease in alcoholic hepatitis. Also cause for some confusion is Liver disease in chronic Hepatitis C infection, one of the leading causes of cirrhosis in the United States.

Hepatitis C can be a deadly disease but is not necessarily fatal to all of its carriers, due in large part to the multitude of variables affecting the virus’s path. As such, caring for the liver wellness will help prevent liver disease and lead to longer, healthier lives. For instance, getting enough sleep and reducing stress can both be instrumental in the healthy upkeep of your liver, as these two factors help strengthen your immune system.





Eliminating the consumption of foods that are fried or processed can also impact liver wellness, with both types of food sources of excessive strain to the liver. Additionally, the antioxidant milk thistle has been clinically proven to dramatically affect the protection of liver cells. Important too this organ is the “processor” of nutrients from the body’s digestive system thus essential to life.

Simply put, you cannot live without your liver, with the liver able to process carbohydrates, proteins, fats and minerals needed to maintain normal body functions. To date, researches have established the many types of liver disease albeit most causes remain to be unknown. Undeniably though poor nutrition and unhealthy eating habits have been linked to leading causes of liver disease just as good nutrition and healthy living can in fact help the damaged liver to regenerate new liver cells.

Battling liver disease starts in the first step towards eating right and having the discipline to get into the regimen of eating right. It is also essential to have a clear picture of the extent of affliction in order to come up with the most effective liver disease treatment and corresponding disease management.

Prevention is always better than a cure. Battling liver disease is practically about such - prevention towards cure. Yet most important to take note of is that liver disease is also preventable through early intervention and early detection. Liver disease has affected and is affecting the lives of millions around the world.
