Tags: , , ,

2007-08-10The times certainly make it exigent for an individual to be categorically attractive as the mould set by Hollywood glitz and glamour has become the standard by which almost everyone wants to fit in. By this, it means basically a sizeable proportion of women have the desire or even the compulsion to be thin.

In medieval times, it may not be harmful for a woman to be made up of tissues, but in this age, it is appealing that the bones are accentuated. Fashion, at times, can be peculiar. And so everybody is in for the quest of losing weight. Losing weight, in itself, is not so much a negative idea if done for the right reason.

The primary reason for weight loss should be that for the health. Cosmetic rewards are then a delightful bonus. But more women often lose weight to sometimes be unreasonably thin, and so they resort to unhealthy weight loss means such as fad diets and harmful medications. Such means, although initially effective has tremendous health drawbacks in the long run.

It is basically very elementary that a healthy diet when conscientiously kept to, is by far the most effective and healthy means to lose weight. A healthy diet means sticking to the basics of having ample intake of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, meat, fish and poultry. When adhering to a healthy diet, an individual frees themselves of unnecessary stress when dieting as all a healthy diet needs is a bit of discipline of eating healthy proportions during regular meals and doing away with junk food.

Everybody may well have an idea of what a healthy diet is. But are they aware of what a healthy diet is not? If an individual’s diet requires them to starve, then it is generally not healthy as a healthy diet is one that allows an individual to eat a reasonable amount of food.

Starvation diets potentially lead to binge eating and may not be advisable to keep to in the long run as they can pose health detriments. A healthy diet does not require an individual to eat the same food over and over again, either. Diets which constantly prescribe an exclusive choice of foods generally deprive an individual of proper nutrition.

A healthy diet is one which is diverse so as to provide sufficient nourishment and will also serve an individual to be kept motivated to adhere to the diet regimen. A healthy diet is one which does not deprive an individual of certain food groups as well. A diet which is unbalanced is contrary to a healthy diet as it oftentimes deprives an individual of carbohydrates or fat or protein.

If such is the case, then an individual is undoubtedly deprived of crucial nutrients. A healthy diet allows an individual to eat a reasonable amount of food which is essential in wholesome nutrient nourishment. All in all, a healthy diet is one which does not put undue emotional, mental and physical strain.

It does not however mean that an individual must just indulge. A healthy diet is one in which an individual enjoys a diverse selection of healthy foods taken in healthy proportions during regular meal time. Everybody may well be aware of what a healthy diet is, but perhaps as it has become so commonplace, its significance has been neglected.

One need not basically look far as the tried and proven healthy diet is the best way to go for weight loss and health.
