A Jack Or Jill Of All Trades For The Virtual Office
Tags: , ,

A may no longer be a novel concept with the predominance of the internet. The internet with all its intricacies, efficiency and convenience can do a lot of wonders. One of them is a virtual office which can be as functional as a conventional office. A virtual office is most often set at home and right from there, operations of a normal office can be carried out. One can then go about with all the necessary office functions right in a spare room of the house or even a corner of the family room. And with a lesser expense at that as the main components are a phone, a computer and an internet connection.

In the comfort and privacy of one’s home, a business can be run. A virtual office makes all these possible. In a virtual office, most things are done virtually. One can even hire their virtual office assistant to complete the idea of everything going virtual. Many may connote virtual office assistant with a secretary. After all, both assist in an office. There may be certain similarities between the two but the differences are more principal and distinctive. By assistant, it is merely a more descriptive way of saying virtual assistant. It simply means that – somebody who assists virtually.

One can visibly see a secretary in an office with a phone, a desk, a computer and all.

Such is not the case with a virtual assistant. A secretary often does filing and paperwork. One’s virtual office assistant does more than those. With a secretary one give benefits and does paperwork on. A virtual office assistant on the other hand does not exist on papers and does not get any benefits like insurance. What to expect when deciding on being a virtual office assistant? Being one means being a jack or jill of all trades as well. An efficient virtual office assistant will be required to do various tasks. They should be qualified to do most anything done within an office or a business.

Other than secretarial work, a virtual office assistant may do doctor’s appointments, accounting and even web page designing. One basically has to go through a training which would prepare them for the position. A virtual assistant may earn $45 an hour on the average. In most cases though, compensation is dependent on the company and the virtual assistant’s skills. Sitting endlessly in front of a computer is required of one having a .
