Cardio Exercise Routines For Boosting Overall Health

When one is intent, there are many ways to lose weight. But not any and every weight loss measure would do. One has to primarily keep in mind that losing weight has to be done to achieve overall health. Thus, the best means is through healthy weight loss. Through such means, the health is not jeopardized, and losing of pounds is slow and steady yet permanent.

Less calorie input and more calorie output is the basic formula for weight loss. So that would mean dieting or eating low calorie foods, and engaging in regular exercise. Speaking of regular exercise, there are quite a number of them too for exercise routines. Exercise routines are crucial when one is intent on losing flab, fat and pounds.

But what is the best form of exercise for this? An effective and the best form of workout by far is through cardio exercise routines. By a cardio workout, it means heart rate increases while exercising, and it is sustained for at least 20 minutes. Cardio workouts have many benefits on weight loss and overall health in general.

For one thing, it boosts cardiovascular health. The heart and lungs are strengthened and circulation is improved. As for the muscles, their flexibility and endurance are enhanced. What are the best forms of cardio exercise routines? For one thing, there is simply walking. But not in a leisurely manner though, but briskly.





Brisk walking is effective for burning calories, and it ought to be done with arm movements. For added strength, one can also make use of small dumbells and small strap-on weights. Then there is also jogging, or running. Running is an excellent form of exercise as doing it requires much energy.

The body burns a large number of calories while jogging or running. In fact, calories burned while running is significantly higher than other forms of workout. Swimming as well is among the effective exercise routines. Swimming improves cardiovascular conditioning and works up the whole body. Muscle strength and endurance, flexibility and posture are boosted as well.

Flow of oxygen all throughout the body is enhanced, yet the heart is not overworked. Then there is bike riding which is quite gentle on the body. Riding a bike to a friend's house or to the shop is an effective means to incorporate into an exercise routine. An elliptical machine can also be used to enhance one's exercise routines.

Exercising in an elliptical machine is relatively low impact thus less stress is imposed on the joints. The elliptical workout is ideal for beginners or for those rehabilitating from injuries. Then there is the rowing machine- by far the best cardio workout equipment when it comes to building muscles in the upper body and the back.

Working out in the rowing machine is low impact. Due to the arm and leg movement, target heart rate is easily achieved. All these and more are possible options for exercise routines. They can be effective measures not only for keeping fit and trim, but in becoming healthy to the optimum as well.
