“Happiness is a state of mind”, it has been perennially said. And it has been constantly supposed that “Life is an attitude of the mind”. With all these said, how one thinks and perceives life is of the essence. It all starts with what one conceives in the mind. The life manifests according to how what one makes of it- in their mind.
Health and fitness and happiness, they are all products of the mind. Of a person's attitude. What is living when it is full of drudgery. It is not living in its real sense. For living to be at its optimum, there has to be zest and vibrance and enthusiasm. Health and fitness as well as total well-being.

 These three always go together- health and fitness and total well-being. Health and fitness is the gist and core of living a worthwhile life. But what is health and fitness? Is it merely a state of being in good physical health? Of being trim and free from disease? Well, that's just one part of it.
Health and fitness is actually more encompassing. It is more than just physical health and fitness. By total health and fitness, it means that of the total being- of the mind, body and spirit. When one is able to attain total health and fitness, the it is possible to live life to the fullest.
How does one achieve total health and fitness? It primarily starts with the will of the mind. When one says “I want it”, then they must muster the initiative to achieve it. They must not only think of ways to achieve their goal. They must also think of means which would motivate them.
One can well think – why is health and fitness worth achieving? And they should ask "What would I get from them"? Are they worth my hard work and effort? When one thinks of all the reasons why they should achieve their goal, then they must come to terms with it.
Then they can say “I want it, and I will achieve it”. What can be a more proper mindset for achieving health and fitness. When one has gathered their mental initiative, it is then that they start to work physically. Eating well and eating right and engaging in regular exercise.
Taking health supplements and keeping to stress relief and management measures. Tending to their spiritual well-being. Giving due to all sorts of social relationships. The same can be said with regular visits to the doctor. These all will contribute to total well-being. Total well-being is a lifelong commitment. It is not just a phase while one is young or when one is aging.
It is a way of living which takes hard work and effort to achieve. It is a working of all the aspects for total wellness. The thought of health and fitness is appealing to almost everybody. But still the question remains- are they doing something to achieve them? Nobody else can give one total well-being other than themselves.
When it comes to personal betterment, it takes personal commitment and initiative. Nobody else will do it for a person other than themselves. The challenge of making oneself better is always worth it. One should well think- it is hard work on their own, but who else gets the reward? None other but themselves, too.
