It takes deliberate effort to exercise and one must initially muster the will to get up and go and keep those muscles working. But when one is in the habit of exercising, they may not only be doing wonders for the muscles but for the heart as well, especially with the aid of a rowing machine.

Using a rowing machine is one of the best aerobic fitness workouts. Working out in such a manner is literally hitting two birds with one machine as a rowing machine does wonders for both the heart and the muscles. A rowing machine is ideal for those who are keen on developing their cardiovascular and muscular systems.

Unlike other cardio machines such as the treadmill, exercise bike and the stair climber, a rowing machine gives a full body workout. The formerly mentioned machines are generally focused on working with the legs and the buttocks while not giving an adequate training for the upper body. Workout analysts on the other hand say that a workout machine works on both the upper and lower body.

Precisely speaking, that’s 70% workout for the legs and the rest is delivered on to the upper body which translates to a full body workout. And that with just one machine. Other than that, a rowing machine exercise is also low impact and is often regarded as a safer alternative to jogging.

Jogging, whether done outdoors or on a treadmill is high impact and not suitable for everybody as one is potentially put to risk for a trauma or an injury. But with a rowing machine, one is actually on a safer path towards cardiovascular and muscle fitness. There are varied rowing machine models available in the current market.

For those on a tight budget, a hydraulic rowing machine may be a sensible choice. The drawback with a hydraulic rowing machine however is that it does not feel smooth and natural, unlike the air or flywheel rowing machine which brings an outdoor rowing feel. Then there is the popular magnetic resistance rowing machine which is elegantly smooth and quiet.

Whichever choice of a rowing machine one makes, they are sure to reap the benefits of a low impact, full body workout which does wonders to the heart and the muscles. Indeed, a rowing machine is one of the best implements for health and fitness paving the way for vitality and total well-being.
