 You may have been beset by an ear ache at some points. What causes an ear ache? There are many factors which can lead to this condition. When any of these conditions happen, accumulation of mucus and pus at the back of the ear drum could form. What may develop is then the presence of virus and bacteria which will in turn lead to an infection. Again, this is otitis media which can result to ear ache.
Other than the ache, redness and swelling can also happen. Otitis media will worsen and become serious if fluid in the middle ear remains. Serious otitis media becomes chronic if left untreated and it may last for months and years. Several subsequent infections can result from this condition leading to more pain and hearing difficulties.
