The Spiritual Nature And Spirituality
Tags: , ,

Spirituality can mean different things to different people. Others find it vague to define such a concept, or state. Oftentimes, spirituality is connoted with religion. Throughout human history, there has been a thin line between the two. To this day, it remains to be even blurred. The term in its truest sense is a broad one. Spirituality is sometimes related with the supernatural. “Things that go bump in the night”, as other people may regard so. The great Spiritualists of the past talked with the dead, and through various techniques at that. This is otherwise known as Spiritualism, and it is often yet associated with spirituality.

An explanation of the spirit - such is what Spiritualism is about. But what of spirituality as it is a word with many meanings? It is important to view the word in the context of its usage. Some people view spirituality differently than others. There are those who regard it in a positive, beautiful sense, and others may put bad connotations with it. Others upon hearing it might think it is some kind of mumbo jumbo that is accepted as faith. But only to discover that it is only a sense that something is beautiful, all for the sake that it is merely beautiful.

The spirit is something that is intangible yet substantial. It’s something which cannot be grasped, yet it is real. It’s the total essence of one’s humanity. Coming to terms with one’s can be a startling process. After all, it’s acknowledging a part of one’s being which is unseen. To be in touch with the spirit is often an ambiguous concept to relate with. Yet nevertheless, it’s an essential aspect of one’s humanity. As the spirit is the essence, it has to be nourished. And that is for growth and positive transformation to take place. From the earliest times, man had a sense that he is not the same from the other animals which share the world with him.

Science points to some of the reasons why man is superior. But there is a point where science becomes uncertain. And at this point, spirituality begins. In this sense it’s deemed as inherent to the one’s personality. Spirituality is that part which cannot be measured, seen or touched. Yet it is of the essence, and it’s the explanation of the soul. To be spiritual means many things to many people. It primarily has to do with . Of something above and something that is all around. Spirituality is the essence of the unknown. There are those who associate it with religion while others don’t.

It is said that the New Age era has dawned and the definition is even changing. But nevertheless, being spiritual has continued to be an evolving concept. Where man seeks a , something all around, something within and something beyond. This connection is what the spirit seeks, and when one seeks it, they become spiritual. It can be a choice, it can be a goal or it can be a state. Whichever it is, it remains to be a personal quest with wonderful discoveries of one’s being and existence.
