Erectile dysfunction is also called impotence, and it may affect a large percentage of men. This condition happens when a man is unable to have an erection prior to having sex. It is also termed as erectile dysfunction when he cannot keep an erection long enough to finish the sexual intercourse.

Such a condition can become embarrassing for a man. As it gets in the way of him realizing his sexual prowess, it can negatively affect his self-confidence. There are many causes of erectile dysfunction- either physical or psychological in nature. Old age can also be a factor as this is common among men over 65 years old.

But ED doesn’t necessarily come with old age. It is true that older men may need more stimulation to get an erection, such as stroking and touching. They might also need more time in between erections. But older men should still get an erection and can enjoy having sex despite their age.

Erectile dysfunction does not affect only older men, but men of all ages. There can be physical causes of it. Some of them are hypertension or high blood pressure, diabetes or high blood sugar. Or atherosclerosis or the hardening of the arteries. A man ought to keep his blood sugar and blood pressure levels controlled in this sense.





Otherwise, there can be problems with him getting an erection. Measures taken to control diabetes, hypertension and atherosclerosis have to be kept to to put be able to manage ED. Hormones might also become imbalanced thereby causing impotence. Blood tests ought to be carried out to determine if this is the cause of the condition.

Ways of showing affection can be encouraged as well, and the couple can have better bonding. All in all, it’s a healthy lifestyle and being at the peak of health which can ward off ED.

Staying away from disobliging habits and taking care of his health are ways for a man to have more sexual prowess. He ought to have a healthy perception about himself, too, so he can be able to express his affection to his partner freely. And as for stress, anxiety and depression, a man should find ways to cope and deal with them.

That way, he could enjoy more energy and vitality and self-confidence. Only then can a man live life a good quality of life with well-being and optimum health.
