There are different expectations imposed by the society from men and women. Men are particularly expected to be strong, thus, it is uncomfortable for them to expose what seems to be regarded as their “weaknesses”. By these, it can mean their feelings, or fears and insecurities. Those in this gender often have to face the issue of bottled up feelings.
This can affect their mental and emotional health in a significant way, and this is among the common mens issues. Bottled up feelings, although minor, can evolve into something consequential when unexpressed. Especially feelings of depression, anger and frustration. Anger and frustration could be common among men as so much may be expected of them.

When these are kept and unresolved, they can lead to aggression. Such is why some men are apt to take them out on their wives and children or partners in a physically abusive way. Men battering their partners and children could themselves have personal issues which for them are difficult to deal with.
Those they live and work with may bear the brunt of their misplaced aggressions. Apparently, such is an unhealthy way to contend with men’s crisis. It’s a destructive means of coping which does harm to the man himself and to those around him. Damage could be instigated to his work and home life and relationships through such means.
Mens issues such as crisis ought to be dealt with accordingly, or in the proper manner. Primarily there is therapy and counseling. A man can be taught and guided on how to handle and express his emotions in a healthy way. He can learn to process his emotions and the issues he is facing.
Sometimes all it takes is to vent out one’s contained emotions and they are able to gain a clearer perspective. Other than talking to a therapist or counselor, a man can also talk with other men concerning their issues. But this is not at all face to face but rather anonymously.
Men are unlikely to discuss their personal issues with other men, but if done anonymously, they may do so. And this is where online forums about mens issues come in. There are countless of them in the internet, and they can provide an outlet for a man’s pent up feelings.
There is freedom in anonymity, they say, and a man can feel comfortable and safer this way. With online forums, there is even no need to vocalize one’s sentiments. All one has to do is write down their concerns which is also a good means for expression. In fact, it’s sometimes easier to express oneself through writing than by actually verbalizing it vocally.
And it can make a world of difference in easing out one’s distress. A healthy release for emotional burdens which are hard to resolve. “Talking it out”, or rather “writing it out” anonymously and getting a stranger’s response can be comforting. A stranger’s perspective is often one is which is unbiased or unprejudiced, and it can considerably help a man in crisis.
Mens issues can be discussed through phone hot lines as well. One can talk to a trained professional this way, and their anonymity is assured, too. A man need not keep all his issues bottled up and feel like he is alone. There are countless of other men out there who are in the same dilemma, and through technology, they can anonymously help each other out.
