The Frazzled Predicament Of Anxiety Attacks

Tags: , , ,

People going though anxiety attacks can be in an overwhelming and gripping predicament as during these bouts, there is an experience of extreme anxiety or fear. This state of mind can be debilitating albeit temporary and may send an individual in a flight of panic and terror, and often, the sufferer can not pinpoint or work out the cause of the anxiety attacks.

There are a number of recognizable symptoms when one has an onslaught of anxiety attacks. Although they are transitory often lasting for a few minutes and not longer than half an hour, the experience can be extremely unpleasant. One of the foremost manifestations of anxiety attacks is extreme fear and often it is for no apparent reason.

Chest pains and rapid heart beating are some of the symptoms of these terrifying bouts. Consequently, during anxiety attacks, an individual may have breathing difficulties. This symptom can lead to hyperventilation as the individual will become more anxious about how to breathe in enough oxygen. There may be shallow, rapid breathing rather than the slow and deep breaths that people normally make.

A feeling of sickness, upset stomach or nausea and often diarrhea go with the onset of anxiety attacks. There may also be variations in body temperature as an individual may experience hot flushes or sudden chills. Such are often the symptoms of anxiety attacks and they often come about unexplained.

Others may even fear that they are losing control giving way to more panic and anxiety as they begin to visualize all sorts of embarrassment that may be further instigated upon the onslaught of anxiety attacks. In fact, the fear experienced during these flights may turn into complete terror in extreme cases.

Anxiety attacks can feel like they are the most detrimental situations to be caught in, and even past common treatable conditions, anxiety attacks on a daily basis (which is possible) can have an overwhelming effect on an individual’s life as well as to those around them. With the offshoot of different treatment modalities other than conventional approaches, there are now other options for those who are suffering from anxiety attacks in dealing with the disorder.

It is foremost that other than addressing the symptoms, an individual suffering from the disorder must have regular and intensive therapy so as to make them deal with the underlying cause of the anxiety attacks. There may be deep seated issues which are emotional or psychological in nature that need to be confronted so as to completely be free from the grip of this disorder.

Other than going down to the bottom of its cause, other measures for management of the symptoms of anxiety attacks can be taken aside from prescription drugs. Alternative healing modalities which are all the more becoming popular can be effective in soothing and calming the nerves. Such modalities may include yoga, meditation, tai chi and aromatherapy.

The philosophy behind alternative medicine is that emotional, psychological and spiritual stresses are behind the occurrence of illnesses and disorders, and the same can be said with anxiety attacks. As such, alternative therapies have been so designed to get to the intangible source of the illness from deep within the individual.
