Health as defined is one’s over-all condition at a given time and that soundness especially of the body and mind free from sickness or abnormality. Nutrition on the other hand is the process of nourishment. Put together, health nutrition has become an integral part of every policy-making body of all governments and battle cry of advocates for health and wellness.

Health nutrition is the ‘hows and whys’ surrounding health concerns and issues as in the classic widespread bitter reality of good food gone bad in many communities and numerous families. Health nutrition is the resolution if not solution of these families in a lot of communities. At the forefront of basic health endeavors be it in the great halls of Congress or four walls in the home of a struggling family in a Third-World country, comes the issue then as to what comprises proper nutrition and how far can one’s health be THE issue? Put together, where does health nutrition stand? Health nutrition as designed guides communities in forging ties that will bind leaders, advocates and stakeholders on what is the better response to the worst health and nutritional needs of the populace.

For instance when ‘good food goes bad, ’ what then? Where are these? And where does health nutrition come in? Good food is everywhere just as good food gone bad is also literally everywhere . It is found in organic produce later left to rot un-used. It is found in fresh fruits and fresh vegetables processed for commercial use.

It is found in quality breads and baked products packaged with preservatives for longer shelf life. A health nutrition issue true to many. In a study by leading nutritionists, it has been validated how boxed, packaged and canned foods has significantly decreased consumption of fiber, as well as other healthy nutrients such as antioxidants, essential fatty acids, vitamins and minerals.

Healthy dietary choices that often take a backseat given the time constraint and “impracticality” thus sacrificing the good food and ending with good food gone bad. Health nutrition is every one’s concern just as it is a basic issue that must be addressed collectively if only to achieve that optimal well being and the nourishment that is just and needed.

Nutritional Consultant and Digestive Care Specialist Cassandra Cox in an article on Good food gone bad presented practical tips that worked on pushing for the understanding of the nutrients saved and lost. From being prepared and knowing what is needed to proper storage technique, to understanding what is in store when buying fresh produce and organic produce, help is out there.

Practical help is out there. Health nutrition then is as basic in the discussion of health itself just as health nutrition is also integral in the formulation of policies on how nutrition is best pushed and advocated. After all, better nutrition leads to healthier communities that will also mean progressive societies.

Health nutrition then as a program is best designed according to the health needs of one community which ultimately will lead back to how health is dealt because health is wealth.
