Belly Fat Is Not Just A Cosmetic Issue

Tags: , , ,

Many may not be familiar with the term abdominal obesity as it does sound technical. But it is in fact a prevalent dilemma, health and aesthetic wise. Others call it the muffin top, the spare tire around the middle or the midriff bulge. In almost every corner, one can see manifestations of it, especially in middle aged individuals.

It is most apparent in obese children, teenagers and adults as well. Those beset with it certainly find it unappealing, even downright unsightly. Such a condition makes one yearn for that six pack abs or bathing suit belly which some are fortunate to have. Yes, it is the lonesome dilemma of having belly fat.

More than being a cosmetic issue which can put a dent on one’s self esteem and social life, having excess belly fat poses one to alarming health detriments as well. Excessive belly fat is in fact linked with threatening conditions such as heart disease and diabetes. Studies have evidently indicated that too much belly fat puts one at higher health risks, but researches and investigations are still ongoing pertaining to why deep belly fat is much more dangerous.

Government researches obtained findings that there is a link between tension, stress and belly fat, and such is known as Metabolic Syndrome. The main culprit behind metabolic syndrome is insulin resistance, and unless this specific problem is addressed, belly fat is bound to persist. By no doubt, one ought to be more concerned of the health risks associated with belly fat rather than not looking good in their swimming trunks or bikinis.

Belly fat is basically stored energy, the most noticeable forms which are love handles and belly rolls. When it comes to getting rid of the dilemma of belly fat, one must of course consider weight loss. And when it comes to weight loss, one must primarily understand that there is no magic trick which can instantly deliver it.

For a guaranteed means for weight loss and lean, flat abs, one must resort to the synergy of the four essential elements of targeted abdominal exercises, cardio, strength training and dieting. One may find it exigent to lose belly fat, and the question remains. How does one effectively reduce belly fat? Even experts straightforwardly say that engaging in the battle against belly fat is absolutely tough.

But for starters, one should be decided on modifying their lifestyle, and that means incorporating exercise with dieting. Other than that, a solution for belly fat is to lower one’s stress levels, exercise more and eat less. Stress relief and alleviation can control the body’s cortisol production, and such can be a means to reduce belly fat.

Strength training delivers the same results as well while curbing the appetite. Having ample consumption of foods rich in omega 3 fats may be helpful as they reduce stress. The same can be said with eating broiled, grilled or baked fish which lower PCB's and dioxin levels. Other than that, one should also consume less sugar, processed foods and sodium to gradually do away with belly fat and live with less health and cosmetic concerns.
