Talks about growing pains is normally attributed to its literal meaning instead of what it really is – a syndrome associated to a normal occurrence in sleep disorder dubbed as Restless Legs Syndrome. Recorded to affect one in ten adults, growing pains the sleep disorder syndrome is blamed to the occurrence of insomnia or extreme difficulty in sleeping.
True to the many aches - literally and figuratively speaking – characterized by the golden age, growing pains are most evident at this age bracket and sadly, more pronounced as the years progressed. In effect, the older one gets, the worse growing pains there is. Yet sadly though, that growing pains the syndrome has since failed to generate equal medical attention that has been given to cases of sleep disorders such as insomnia and sleep apnea.

Arguments and counter-arguments have opened the doors to the actual reality that growing pains vis a vis the link to sleeping disorder in Restless Legs Syndrome failed to draw corresponding studies nor interest in the medical field. As a result, problems traced and observed to growing children remain unchartered territories raising fears of mis-diagnosis and improper treatment.
Worse, the apparent lack of appropriate knowledge here results to a lot speculations and seeming trial and error on how growing pains as a disorder is treated and managed. As such the question hangs now as to what exactly is growing pains in relation to Restless Legs Syndrome and how much do we know about this condition? Studies now present that genes may be a factor so it is highly considerable that this is a ‘family thing’ passed on to generations and generations.
Simply put, this alongside Restless Legs Syndrome is a family disorder. Growing pains in sleep disorder are also associated to lack of iron nutrient or those said to be anemic. Both goes hand in hand – growing pains and sleep disorder, growing pains and Restless Legs Syndrome. How it is distinguished from the other is solely the call that is in the hands of the doctor or trained professional.
Yet the truth is, the pain as a disorder stands parallel to discussions and widened talks of the sleep disorder and Restless Legs Syndrome. It is more difficult to separate both from the pain itself as categorized into being a growing one. The golden age of 50 is where most of the studies and talks in growing pains have been attached only because at the earliest period which is the formative years of the children no corresponding work is being done in this regard.
Again, what is clear though is that it is, as a matter of truth and fact directly linked and associated to sleep disorders and directly linked and associated to Restless Legs Syndrome characterized by weaknesses in the legs. Literally and figuratively speaking, nobody wants to deal with growing pains. More so of such as a disorder.
While it is said to be a family thing, truth is, not much is known nor even explored on the extent of its effect.
