It can get frustrating no longer fitting in your jeans and feeling flab all over your body. It’s one of those horrible instances when you finally realize that your weight problem is getting out of hand. You feel like you’re looking stubby and your waistline has disintegrated. The reality hits you- you are officially considered as “fat”. Being categorized as overweight has scores of glitches. Health issues are among them, but your primary concern would most often be the dent it can put on your self-esteem. Hardly is being “fat” considered as attractive. So in an edgy state of panic, you say to yourself “I have to lose weight”.

In your dire desperation you might drastically starve yourself. Skipping meals is often the first recourse of people wanting to radically lose weight. When you skip meals you might think you are taking in less calories, and you’ll be shrinking your fat cells. But the thing with skipping meals is that it alters your body’s metabolic process to survival mode. Your body which is under the notion that you are starving and stranded in an island somewhere would begin to store fat as a reserve to sustain you. Skipping meals will make your body more “substantial” which is a major violation to a weight loss scheme. This is among the biggest mistake of overly fretful weight loss seekers.
What they mainly aim for is quick and rapid weight loss which presents far too many dangers. You may lose pounds and inches in a relatively short period of time, but you ought to consider the consequences. You could fancy yourself as finally having lost weight, but along with it, you might lose your sensibility, too. How is this so, you might ask. It’s basically that quick weight loss could deprive your body of essential nutrients for efficient functioning. This goes the same for your brain as well- it will be undernourished. It will be unable to do one of its basic functions- generating thoughts. So don’t be surprised when while going on a quick weight loss diet you find your mind somewhat becoming like an empty page. You could have difficulty putting your thoughts together or concentrating. How would you like that. You would be considered sexy, but then you’d be a sexy “dummy”. If you happen to be going to school or earning a living which at least requires you to think, then your productivity will be diminished. You are able to fashion your body into having a more appealing form, but then you could lose a sensible personality. Other than having difficulty to think clearly and your mind being sluggish, you could become irritable, too. Your mood will be negatively influenced when not having sufficient proper nutrients in your system. You could get enthusiastic about the fact that you have shed off unwanted fatty matter from your physique, but you are unlikely to feel that “enthusiasm” to the fullest. It is simply because you will not have energy. Your mind will not be perked up being somewhat famished for its fuel, and so is your body. You will not have physical energy to keep you on the go. And the worst downside of quick weight loss is that you would fall ill and your system would bog down. It’s not that you are left with one or the other- being slim and trim or enjoying well- being. You can have the best of both worlds by being fit and healthy. Health and fitness is the key to well-being wherein living is more worthwhile. And how is this achieved? By living a healthy lifestyle and inculcating healthy self-esteem. The word “healthy” may sound prudish to some, but it’s a different story when it is actually lived and applied. When you’re off to the pursuit of fulfillment and happiness, it’s always worth the try.
