Hot Essentials Of Bikram Yoga

Tags: , , ,

There are many types of yoga and there is Bikram Yoga. Bikram Yoga practically is the same practice of yoga BUT in a hot room and heated environment, literally speaking. This is so, for Bikram Yoga is performed in a room heated between 90 and 100 degrees Fahrenheit with a complete routine done in an hour and half.

Bikram Yoga follows though a consistent program, employing 26 various poses, each practiced twice every session. The poses flow is as follow - start with standing postures, then progress to backbends. Then practice forward bends and twists. The poses will be done using the Kapalabhati Breath or the “breath of fire” techniques, advanced techniques known for the energizing and cleansing qualities.

Heat in Bikram Yoga helps one ease in to a deeper, safer pose. The heat helps the body's flexibility, making it easier to achieve better postures and making the overall practice more effective. Some of the poses in Bikram Yoga are quite challenging, and the heat will help one more comfortably.

Also, with the increased temperature, the body will sweat more readily, releasing more toxins from the pores. The heat also lowers risk of injuries. The practice of Bikram yoga is not simply stretching the muscles in the body. It also works and ‘massages’ the internal organs, which helps to strengthen and lubricate the body's glands and improve the nervous system.

With Bikram yoga, one works and strengthens the muscles, joints and ligaments. All these work -- especially with the help of the specialized environment of Bikram Yoga that helps to flush toxins out of the body and provides the kind of exercise the muscles crave. Aptly named, this yoga practice was developed by Yogi Bikram Choudhury, who first began his yoga practice at the age of three.

He then studied yoga for a long while with the renowned physical culturalist, Bishnu Ghosh. Together they developed this form as one of the ultimate ways to help the body through series of challenging stretches and poses. It goes without saying that the Bikram Yoga beginner requires a skilled instructor to get started, as these poses are more challenging than some.

As a result, more than other forms, you'll need to take instruction at a yoga school or some of the higher end fitness clubs. Bikram Choudhry, the founder of Bikram Yoga, was born in Kolkatta in 1946. Later, he founded his own system of yoga known as Bikram Yoga. .You can easily learn more about Bikram Yoga to any of the on-topic books available on the Web. If you are ready to branch out and try something new, be sure to try Bikram yoga.To stress, the practice of Bikram yoga is not simply stretching the muscles in the body for it also works and ‘massages’ the internal organs. It is known to help strengthen and lubricate the body's glands and improve the nervous system. Again, with Bikram yoga, one works and strengthens the muscles, joints and ligaments. And all these work -- especially with the help of the specialized environment of Bikram Yoga that helps to flush toxins out of the body and provides the kind of exercise the muscles crave.
