Body And Mind Integration With Dahn Yoga

Yoga has long been an age-old mind and spiritual practice, and to this day, it is enjoying a vast number of following. Whether it be the perennially practiced hatha yoga or the recently resurrected dahn yoga, this spiritually empowering, mind enhancing, relaxation inducing and physically boosting technique has become an inherent incorporation of a multitude of holistic well-being seekers.

Apparently, hatha yoga is the most common of all forms of yoga. Hatha yoga is a technique of combined breathing control, physical exercises and postures. Hatha yoga exercises optimize blood circulation and improve stamina, flexibility, vitality and strength. Like almost all forms of yoga, hatha yoga is also a form of peaceful meditation which gives way to self-awareness and boosted energy thereby creating a sense of general well-being.

Aside from hatha yoga, there exists an increasingly becoming popular yoga technique, and that is dahn yoga. Dahn yoga is otherwise known as Dahn Hak or Dahnak. Primarily, dahn yoga started as an early form of Korean instruction which aims on teaching its adherents on the expansion and widening of the breadth of the mind and the body.

After having vanished for hundreds of years, dahn yoga has re-emerged in Seoul during the decade of the 80’s and it was not until 1991 that the yoga practice extended its influence on the realms of the Western world through the United States. Dahn yoga advocates the principles and concepts pertaining to energy movement and action within the body.





The yoga technique also teaches its adherents that the aging and weakening of the body is the brought about by stress and that elimination of stress will improve health and prolong life. Along with cultivating the body’s natural healing abilities, the yoga technique also enhances the stimulation of energies which connect the physical body to the conscious mind.

A holistic healing, that is of the mind, body and spirit is promoted by dahn yoga through its meditation, breathing methods and deep stretching. Through dahn yoga, a practitioner is taught on how to fully enrich their lives by learning how to gain mastery of communicating through the body. Dahn yoga, when practiced efficiently can be a means for one to connect into their spiritual self.

Other than inducing a profound state of body relaxation, dahn yoga most of all paves the way for the discovery of one’s inner consciousness. Dahn yoga enables its practitioners to live with self control and focused concentration and liberates them from the stress and anxiety brought about by daily pressures.

Dahn yoga realizes the integration of the body and the mind and as a result, latent abilities are actualized and goals set are easily achieved. As for its tangible benefits, dahn yoga encourages the accumulation of energy in the body through breath work and meditation and as a result, the body’s internal organs and systems have a better and boosted functioning.

Dahn yoga practitioners volunteer to teach the yoga practice without payment at times, thus they are able to promote individual and community health and well-being as well as happiness and peace.
