 You’ve probably had that experience when the thought of a friend suddenly came to mind, and then that friend called a soon after. Or when you thought about an episode you’ve seen on tv and the following night it’s been shown. Incidents such as these and perhaps many others more which seem surprising.
But maybe you say to yourself that they are mere coincidences. But are they, really? These are actually moments when you’re having a glimpse of your psychic self. When it comes to matters which are psychic, the term “third eye” is associated. The third eye is also known as the “inner eye”, or “the minds eye”.

It is believed that people have three eyes. The two eyes are those which can be physically seen- plain as the eyes can see, so to speak. And then there is the third eye which is spiritual. Meditation and hypnosis are two of the means of opening this aspect of the psychic self.
Once you have opened your third eye, you unlock the door to numerous possibilities, and one of them is looking into the future. Your psychic self is at work when you’re having those intuitive moments. You’d be opening yourself up to more psychic abilities once your third eye has been opened.
It’s the site where we receive psychic impressions. This mind’s eye is said to be associated with the pineal gland in the brain. For most people, the pineal gland is dormant. Rene Descartes, a French philosopher, believed that the pineal glad is the “seat of the soul”. It is where the mind and the body intersect.
The pineal gland is inactive for most people, but opening the third eye would activate the gland. Meditation and hypnosis can help a person do so. Once a person succeeds in this effort, it will be an unfolding of themselves into a whole other spiritual world. Certain new psychic abilities would also develop, such as clairvoyance, telepathy and telekinesis.
A person could begin to see spiritual beings. Chakras and auras of other people may become apparent. Seeing into the future becomes possible, a psychic ability called precognition. It will be a whole new experience of the spiritual- a world beyond what can be seen and almost like magical. As much as this ability sounds so appealing, it can be dangerous, too.
For one thing, you’d be knowing what you’re not supposed to know. This can be used to your advantage, but responsibilities are entailed with this superhuman capability. There’s that ever popular line from Spiderman “with great power comes great responsibility”. Psychic ability is a kind of power in itself, but it has to be used responsibly.
After all, actions, whether good or otherwise have their consequences. Tapping into your psychic self will bring you into an experience which is beyond the typical. If you think you are up and ready for it, then you can try exercises for opening the third eye or strengthening your intuition.
