We eat because it's a
necessity. Food gives
you the energy to face
the day.

Unfortunately, food often
gives you more than what
you bargained for.

Let's face it not all foods are
good for your body.

There are some food wherein
you feel your arteries clog up
just by looking at it - can you
say double cheese burger
with everything on it.

It looks good and yes, it taste
good but imagine what it's
doing to your body,
especially with all
that fat.

Good thing is that a lot of food
that you buy has labels that
tells you what you're getting
and in what dosage.

But then there are foods that
don't have any labels at all.

So to help in your quest to
find foods that will actually
help you stay fit and healthy
let's check out a few of them.

1. Eggs

One of the more confused
food products out there.

Depending on which study
was sponsored by which
organization, eggs are
either bad or good for
you.

Which one is it really?

It's your breakfast we're
talking about here.

Disregarding reports pro or
con, eggs are a great source
of high quality protein.

And because the protein is
easily absorbed by the body
you stay full longer.

At the same time since protein
helps in building up muscle,
it also helps increase the
rate in which your body
burns calories.

2. Apples

There certainly is something
to the saying "an apple a
day keeps the doctor
away."

Because an apple a day
helps keep you healthy
so you minimize the
need for a doctor.

How?

Simply because an apple
is purely water and two
kinds of fiber that can
help you control your
hunger - soluble and
insoluble.

It's the insoluble fibers that
helps fill you up so you eat
less.

At the same time, apples
also contain a flavonoid
called quercetin which can
help fight some cancers,
reduce cholesterol damage
and even promote healthy
lungs

3. Yogurt

Specifically low fat yogurt.

You've probably seen those
Yoplait ads that tell you
that if you eat yogurt
you'll become thin and
sexy enough to fit into
a "itzy bitzy yellow
polka-dot bikini."

The thing is yogurt CAN
help do all that.

According to Michael B.
Zemel, M.D., the lead
researcher and a professor
of nutrition and medicine
at the University of
Tennessee in Knoxville:

"Calcium combined with
other bio-active compounds
found in dairy products slow
down the process of making
fat and increases fat burning,
especially around the belly."

There are more foods out there
that can help you be slim, stay
fit and be healthy.

However if you're looking for
a one-food-does-all kind of
thing I'm sorry to say there's
no such thing as that.

But foods such as the ones
I mentioned above can help
you eat less over the course
of the day
