Stop When You're Full - How To Not Overeat

Make those favorite pair of
pants fit again.

Don't make them make fun
of your size.

You can lose it and stay
fit and healthy.

Find out how here.

************************************************************

We have an obesity problem
in America right now.

Actually it's not just a problem -
it's more of an epidemic.

Why is that?

Because we tend to overeat.

And the scary part is we
often don't realize it.

And the reason we don't
realize it is because of
the portions that we're
used to eating.

You know what I mean.

You've probably seen it when
you go out to eat - huge
portions that can technically
feed two people piled up
on one plate just for you.

And because it's right there
on our plate you tend to
finish all of it - like it or not.

Come one don't tell me you
haven't done so.

And the thing is you may
not have realized it but
your stomach was already
full halfway through the meal.

What does that mean?

It means that the other half
of the meal isn't going to
powering up your body,
rather it goes to your
waist as flab.

So why don't you NOT
finish everything.

I mean it. If the portions you
are getting are huge don't
finish all of it.

So what if you have a lot of
left-overs.

Bring it home if you're eating
out, or keep it for the next
day if you're at home.

And while you're at it eat
slowly.

Don't eat as if a vacuum
cleaner has been turned
on and suck in all the food.

Eat as if time is of no value.

Chew your food well before
you swallow.

Don't rush putting food in
your mouth until you've
done swallowing.

There's a reason for this.

According to experts it takes
about 10 to 15 minutes for
the "full" signal to go from
your stomach to your brain.

More so if you are already
obese.

So if you're simply wolfing
down your food, by the time
the "full" signal gets to your
brain, you would have had
eaten twice the amount
you would have otherwise.

By taking the time to eat
your food, you're giving time
for the "full" signal to get to
your brain so you can then
feel satisfied and stop eating.

And eat because you're eating,
not because you're doing
something else.

Multi-tasking while eating
won't do your body good.

Because you're doing a lot
of things at the same time,
your brain may not be able
to register the "full" signal
once it gets there since it
will be too busy trying to
cope with texting or typing
or whatever else you were
doing at the same time.

Also, try and trick your brain
with an illusion - use a smaller
plate instead of a jumbo one.

The thing is, portions look
smaller on a big plate so
your brain thinks you need
to get and eat more food.

But the same portion on
a smaller plate will seem
huge so your brain will
think the food is enough.

And if you still want to go
back for second wait a while -
about 10 to 15 minutes just
to make sure you're indeed
full.

(Remember the time it takes
for the "full" signal to reach
the brain)

If you are still not full yet
then by all means go back
for seconds but stick with
a salad or something light
and high in fiber and/or
protein.

Just because the food you're
eating tastes good isn't a
reason to keep on eating
it until you burst.

All this depends on your will
power.

But once you make your
commitment to controlling
your appetite, you'll be
pleasantly surprised as
to the results.
