Emotional Issues Behind Eating Disorders

The total being is an intertwined relationship between the mind, the emotions and the body. When the mind is in distress, so will the emotions and the body. And if the emotions are bothered, most likely the mind and the body will be, too. The same is the case when the body is ill- the mind and the emotions can be affected. When a person suppresses strong emotions, then it may lead to heavy eating or eating too much. They may use snacks or foods to indulge in so as to deal with emotional difficulties. People who suffer from eating disorders are often emotionally weak. Food has become their medium to relieve themselves. Undoubtedly, this is an unhealthy pattern. This tendency can lead to an eating disorder. And an eating disorder can lead to weight gain or ill health.
