Pasteurization can hamper bacteria growth in raw milk before it is heat treated. To ensure that such an instance will not happen, particularly in preparing raw meat and poultry, it is best that the hands as well as the utensils are washed with warm, soapy water. Reheating leftovers all the way through can decrease the likelihood of food poisoning. The same can be said with taking extra care when preparing foods. To keep food poisoning in check, stacked washed dishes should be drained, and when using a cloth for drying, one must ensure that the cloth is clean.
