Any burn, injury or any other trauma to it can definitely cause scar formation. Imagine having a fine piece of silk; a single tear even if it’s small can make a big difference on its appearance. Now human as we are, we will have experiences that can tear our skin; be it self-inflicted, or consequentially. Acne Treatments depends on the type of skin that you have. It could be severe, moderate, or mild form. And sometimes your doctor will combine treatments in order to get the best results and to avoid the development of drug-resistant bacteria. Treatments for acne could include lotions or gels that you put to the affected area of your skin. But treatment does not stop here; treatment of acne may also be done through oral medications, where the patient takes medications by mouth. The treatment for mild acne includes pimples, whiteheads or blackheads. It is done by gently cleansing it with mild soap, such as Dove or Neutrogena. Other treatment includes the application of Benzoyl Peroxide or Salicylic Acid. But it would always be best to consult a dermatologist before engaging in these treatments. This way you would know whether you are allergic to this kind of applications or not. Moreover your dermatologist can also give you stringer prescriptions or creams. In treating moderate to severe acne, always remember that sometimes your skin condition needs stronger medications or a combination of therapies. Remember that deeper blemishes such as cysts and nodules are most likely to leave scars. This is the reason why your dermatologist would recommend that you take oral antibiotics sooner; this is to start the healing process. Always remember that effective acne treatment, starts in you. You must follow your doctor’s advice religiously if you want to achieve the best results. Most skin condition treatments like acne take time. It often takes 6 to 8 weeks for acne to improve after you start your treatment. Other treatments also show awkward signs of healing, like it gets worse first before it gets better. Treatment for acne scars may improve or remove scars. But sometimes treatment combinations works best. The treatments would include Laser Resurfacing. This process uses a carefully controlled laser that burns away scar tissues. The Collagen Injections. This process smoothens the skin by plumping the skin under the scar. The Dermabrasion. This process uses a whirling wire brush, which skims off scar tissues. And lastly the Chemabrasion. This process uses chemicals to peel away the top layers of the skin. Lastly if your skin condition hasn’t improved after several tries, consult your doctor immediately. Doctors usually recommend oral retinoid. Doctors prescribe this medication as a last resort, because it has some rare but serious side effects plus, it’s expensive. About the author. Fri, 28 Nov 2008 06:35:42 +0100 Diet Is The Natural Way Of Curing Acne http://www.healthzine.org/Acne/Acne http://www.healthzine.org/Acne/Acne Statistics show that there are many people who suffer from acne, also commonly known as pimple. This is especially true to those who are in their teens. But, it’s not only teens who suffer from insecurities because of these and the scars they left behind. Even those in their 30’s and 40’s also suffer from the dilemma brought about by acne and acne scars. There are many products in the market claiming to cure your problem but they haven’t. Actually, you can cure your pimples without using medical prescriptions or dangerous drugs. Take a look at your diet for example. Many people would say that the food we eat have nothing to do with it. There are also some who would say they do. Maybe those who say that this have nothing to do with it belong to those people who are lucky enough to have genes that are not pimple prone, or have just simply not noticed it. And what about those who are not as lucky as those who were blessed with genes that are not pimple prone? To those unlucky ones, have you ever noticed that there are times when the pimples on your face just disappears without even applying anything on your face and there are also times when they got worse? Many have even tried so many products but none has ever solved their problem. Sometimes they just even got worse and caused more severe problems. You may not have noticed it, but that is because of your diet. The changes in your diet cause your acne to lessen or disappear, or multiply and get bigger. The effect of the changes on your diet on your pimples has been proven by latest research studies. Take fatty or oily foods for instance. Studies show that they cause acne. Why? The reason behind is that they disturb your hormones which causes imbalance, down to the cellular level. When your hormones are disturbed, they react abnormally. One of the abnormal reactions is to cause the sebaceous gland to produce too much oil thereby clogging the pores. When pores are clogged and infected, it is a natural reaction of your skin to inflame to expel the dirt clogging your pores. The inflammation is what is known as acne or pimples. They commonly occur on your face, but this is not the only part in your body. They also occur on your back, head, ears, and even on your private parts and inside your nostrils! If foods can cause acne, they can cure them too. The solution to your problem lies only in your hands! What’s more? Since fatty and oily foods are not healthy, they also cause your weight problem if you happen to be overweight. Amazing isn’t it? You will be able to solve your pimple problem in one hand, and your weight problem on the other. This is like hitting two birds with just one stone! We just have to be careful with what we eat. But how can we be careful when we don’t know what food we are going to eat to prevent and cure our acne and what food we should avoid? Be smart. Eat healthy foods like fruits and vegetables. They are the natural cure for stopping acne. But take note that not all fruits and vegetables do not cause pimples, they do too. This is where knowledge of foods and their chemical content comes in. Make a list of such foods. Start it now. About the author. Dr. Rose Windale is a successful Health & Wellness Coach who has been advising and coaching individuals for many years. Wed, 10 Sep 2008 09:37:51 +0200 The Back Acne Skin Beauty Issue http://www.healthzine.org/Acne/back-acne1 http://www.healthzine.org/Acne/back-acne1 Back acne is pimples on the back. Other people won’t generally see them, unless of course the back is bared. And baring the back is one of the sexiest trends nowadays. But how can a naked back be sexy when it has pimples? Back acne is one of the forms of body acne. Body pimples are not only found on the back, but the chest as well. Pimples on the back and chest may not appear so common primarily because they aren’t exposed that much. Nevertheless, they are blemishes on the skin. If you want to have flawless skin and be impeccably beautiful, you’d find back acne annoying. So what would you do to get rid of this skin beauty dilemma? You may have had facial acne at some points, if not at the moment. Perhaps you’ve resorted to facial acne treatments to deal with this problem. But would such products be effective for body pimples as well? In some cases, they are not. Products for facial pimples may not be able to treat chest and back acne. At times, treatments for the latter would need a different or stronger formulation. Facial skin is more sensitive than skin on most other body parts. What’s more is that body acne tends to easily worsen. The area tends to be more in contact with clothes and other materials which can irritate the skin. The condition can then become severe making it more difficult to treat. But a treatment regimen for back acne is quite similar to that of facial acne. Similar in a sense that a daily, regular application is needed- a regimen. This may consist of applying cleanser and moisturizer. But as you may well imagine, applying them on the back will not be as easy as doing so on the face. Pimples on the body need more meticulous treatment. They easily get worsened, as mentioned. Clothes are worn over them which can cause further irritation. When wearing tight clothes, sweat can also rub on the skin and the pimples and cause excessive sebum production. What would usually result is a breakout- of unsightly pimples on the area. Other than clothes, another aggravating factor is the use of backpacks, which involves, well, the back. Heavy backpacks worn over the shoulders can aggravate pimples growing within the area. After all, there is rubbing, and therefore more chances of irritation. So if pimples happen to be a problem for you in those areas, stop using backpacks in the meantime. A shoulder bag would be a good alternative in such an instance. Allow your skin condition to heal first- with time and treatments. And if you are so eager on using backpacks, use it once your back acne is cured. Crucial factors to consider for treatment are the severity of the skin condition, and which skin type you have. Body acne conditions are often categorized as mild, moderate and severe, and there are suitable treatments for each. The same is the case for different skin types – dry, oily or combination. Specific products are designed and formulated for each sort. So don’t just rush to the store and pick the first acne treatment product for your skin condition. Get to know the nature of your condition first to be able to apply which is right and most fitting. That’s how it is with beauty and keeping yourself beautiful- being keen and paying attention to every detail of yourself, and applying the most proper care. About the author. Tue, 15 Jul 2008 06:32:03 +0200 Know The Myths And Facts About "acne Rosacea" http://www.healthzine.org/Acne/acne-rosacea1 http://www.healthzine.org/Acne/acne-rosacea1 Acne rosacea, as it is called, but actually it is not acne. This skin dilemma generally appears as a red rash over the nose, cheeks, forehead and chin. The redness is often accompanied by acne-like symptoms, and so it is mistaken as such. Other symptoms which go with the condition are bumps, blemishes and pimples. The fact is, rosacea is different from acne, and these two conditions have different treatments. It is important that you are properly diagnosed to determine which is the suitable treatment and thus you will be treated accordingly. There are those who mistakenly treat rosacea with acne treatments. These treatments can actually make the problem worse because they are for a different condition. Many myths abound about “acne rosacea”, which is actually a misnomer. They say that this skin condition is caused by the foods that you eat. When you are in the habit of eating oily and sugary foods, peanuts, French fries and chocolates, many think that you will develop “acne rosacea”. Or when you do have the condition, they might think that these are the cause. This is actually a myth, a fiction. These foods are not the cause of the problem, but on the other hand they may trigger an allergic reaction, which could aggravate the symptoms. Then there are people who assume that teenage acne will lead to rosacea in adulthood. Again, this is a myth or something unfounded. There is no solid basis that there is a link between the two. Rosacea is a vascular condition, while the teenage pimple problem has to do with bacteria in the skin pore. But nevertheless, a person can suffer from both conditions at the same time. Another myth is that alcohol will aggravate this vascular condition. Since alcohol affects the blood flow, many believe that this will cause flare ups. And when a person is predisposed to the condition, the symptoms could become complicated. This belief is fiction as heavy drinking will not cause this skin problem. Nor does it mean that a person who has rosacea is an alcoholic. Flare ups and redness symptoms are due to the dilation of the blood vessels. They are not by nature due to or are acne. And so treatments for these two skin conditions are not the same. Acne medications such as antibiotics, retinoids and salicylic acid are focused on targeting bacteria, sebum and abnormal shedding of skin cells. They are not in any way suitable for a vascular condition. For the rosacea condition, more suited would be topical niacinamide. This component will reduce inflammation but at the same time gentle on sensitive skin. As it is not harsh, it will not likely cause redness or irritation. And lastly, this skin problem is not contagious, contrary to what many believe. Acne of all kinds cannot be transmitted from one person to another, and the same is the case for rosacea. It is not caused by bacteria being a vascular condition. It will not infect one person from another person. However, it must be noted that bacteria could complicate the problem. About the author. Wed, 18 Jun 2008 08:04:27 +0200 How To Prevent And Treat Acne Scars http://www.healthzine.org/Acne/acne-scars2 http://www.healthzine.org/Acne/acne-scars2 Acne, or pimples as they are called can happen to anybody. It did to me, and maybe to you, too. And if it hadn’t yet, then there are chances that it will happen to you. You’ve probably seen how pimples look like- certainly not good, right? Pimple breakouts can really be annoying. It gets in the way of smooth and flawless skin. Acne is definitely a blemish to your looks. Equally annoying, or even worse than acne is acne scars. Acne scars are those "craters" or depressions that past pimples have left. If you have found the right acne treatment, chances are that they will heal in no time. But what of acne scars on the other hand? They can be with you for all your life. So when you’re caught up with a pimple breakout, be careful. Don’t do anything that would cause scarring later on, such as popping or scratching the pimples. I remember when I was a teenager and I had a severe pimple problem. My mom tried buying a good acne product for me. Well, the product may have been “good” for others, but not for me. It turned out that I was allergic to it and as expected, my problem got worse. I looked worse because my face swelled and had rashes all over. Over more than a decade later, memories of that incident still haunt me, especially when I look in the mirror - because of the acne scars. And now I spend a considerable amount for skin care products to hopefully remove the scars. So I hope you can get the moral of the story there. To prevent scarring, be gentle with your treatment and choose the right product. And watch out for allergic reactions. Prior to applying the product, test it on your skin first. And look for ingredients in the product such as alpha hydroxy and beta hydroxy. (These are vitamins, by the way). They would help in a faster healing of your pimples. Much more, they can help prevent scarring. Taking care of your skin can also keep it from having scars. Avoid too much exposure in the sun, and if you must, use a sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or more. And if you already have scars and scabs have developed in them, don’t remove the scabs. It’s a surefire way of worsening the scars. It would make them more noticeable than they would have been otherwise. So take extra caution when pimples appear on your face. Just gently cleanse your skin and apply your toner and lotion on them. It may take a bit of time and if the problem is not chronic, your pimples will eventually heal. If you’re looking for the right acne product, try natural products. I’m using a natural product for my skin care regimen now and it’s giving me great results. And the acne scars dilemma is beginning to look promising- they are becoming less noticeable. Once you’ve found the right product, you are more likely to get what you hope for when it comes to your beauty needs. The internet is a good place to start where you can find lots of options for beauty products. Plus, you can gain more information and proof from reviews and testimonials. Remember, you and everything about you is natural. So you might as well care for you and your skin the gentle and natural way. About the author. Mon, 26 May 2008 10:15:48 +0200 Preventing The Acne Vulgaris Dilemma http://www.healthzine.org/Acne/acne-vulgaris2 http://www.healthzine.org/Acne/acne-vulgaris2 So what is acne vulgaris, you may ask. It’s simply known as acne for short, and nobody likes the idea of it. It’s rather unfortunate for many though as acne vulgaris affects 20 million people in the United States alone. Acne vulgaris results when the skin’s sebaceous glands produce too much oil or sebum. This then leads to the pores being clogged and the acne skin dilemma soon manifests. You may think that this common skin condition affects teenagers alone. After all, teenagers are in the adolescence stage. They go through much and significant hormonal changes and it can bring about irregularities. One of these irregularities is that of the sebaceous glands and then eventually the skin- there will be a formation of acne vulgaris. Yes, it is true that this dilemma affects mostly teenagers, but note: it is not exclusive to teenagers. Adults can be beset by it as well and the problem could be as worse. Teenagers who haven’t had it may suffer from it during adulthood. And so goes the health and beauty dilemma called acne vulgaris. What is the best means to deal with such a problem? Well, there are countless of acne skin care products in the market. They are in fact too many and you can be at a loss with what to choose. It may take some experimentation till you find the most suitable one, but it will help if you do your research. Countless of sites online provide a host of information on ingredients as well as product reviews. Make use of the convenience of the internet and you can spare yourself from a lot of wasted time and effort. You can also seek the advice of an expert. Talk to a dermatologist or a doctor if you may. Their expertise can guide you on the best treatment. Once you’ve found the most suitable treatment, it’s necessary that you remain conscientious. Apply the treatment regularly until your acne is healed. That’s the price of beauty- you sacrifice time, resources and effort. A healthy lifestyle is also entailed. Learn how to manage stress effectively as it can aggravate the condition. Give ample time for relaxation through yoga or meditation. Or better yet, enjoy a healthy leisure or hobby. Make means to prevent stress from wreaking havoc on your skin and appearance. Other than stress relief, stick to a healthy diet as well. Eat more of fruits and vegetables rather than fried and greasy foods. Oily foods can make your acne problem worse. This skin condition can possibly get in the way of your self-esteem and confidence. They can even do damage to your skin as they might cause scars. Popping or scratching must never be done in this sense. Scarring can result from them and that is yet another beauty dilemma and harder to treat. The key is oftentimes in being patient. Letting the condition heal on its own while religiously applying the right product. One of the best acne products in the market today is Acnezine. Acnezine is a proven safe and natural product which can give you blemish free, radiant and healthy skin. Acnezine is available through the Healthzine store where you can get the best value for your health and beauty needs. About the author. Tue, 6 May 2008 11:46:33 +0200 Preventing Beauty Dilemmas From Cystic Acne http://www.healthzine.org/Acne/Cystic-Acne1 http://www.healthzine.org/Acne/Cystic-Acne1 It certainly is nice to look at smooth, radiant and healthy skin. It can make you glow and look attractive. Especially your facial skin, as it is most visible. But many things can get in the way of this, such as acne. Acne is the most common of skin conditions affecting adolescents and adults. There is particularly one sort of this skin condition which can really be bothersome, and that is cystic acne. How is cystic acne different from all the other sorts of can?. Well for one thing, cystic acne is rather large, approximately 5mm in size. From the name itself, it consists of a cyst and it is filled with pus. Cystic acne can rather be painful, not to mention that it is unsightly. Such skin blemishes obviously make the face look unpleasant. If you have this condition, here are some tips that you have to remember. Cystic acne usually leaves scars when they are healed. There are things which you can do so as not to aggravate it. For one thing, never squeeze or pop them. It will lead to more pain and scarring. The scars they leave will become more prominent, and this might be a problem for you in the long run. Squeezing or popping results to the condition becoming more painful. What’s more, the infection will become worse, and it will even spread. Indeed, this skin condition is one of the most difficult beauty dilemmas to deal with. But there are ways in which you can manage it. Sure there may be over-the-counter medications, but it’s best for you to make sure. You might as well visit the dermatologist to obtain a more guaranteed treatment. Primarily, you’d need to be properly diagnosed. A dermatologist has the capacity to do that. It would be detrimental if you make your own self-diagnosis. What if you are wrong? And what if you apply the wrong treatment? It could lead to your condition becoming more worse. And remember that you also have scarring to worry about. Having this problem is actually quite serious, so you better take the proper recourse. With the proper treatment measures, your cystic acne can be remedied. And if there are scars, then there are means to deal with them as well. All is not lost if you are wary. Wary of not applying any treatment which can worsen, and wary of not making the infection more severe. Seek the advice of a dermatologist so you can spare yourself a whole lot of trouble. The condition can get you down, but hang in there. There are treatments available and they can relieve your skin condition. For a proven natural product for acne, try Acnezine. Tue, 15 Apr 2008 15:10:49 +0200 Getting Rid Of Blackheads And Having Healthy Skin http://www.healthzine.org/Acne/blackheads http://www.healthzine.org/Acne/blackheads Teenagers have quite a number of dilemmas to contend with. Among them are hormonal changes in the body. Such changes bring about certain consequences. One of those is acne, one of the most common problems during adolescence. Acne results from excess sebum production in the skin. More often, it is hormonal factors which trigger acne. Poor facial hygiene would aggravate it as well. And then again, there are several types of acne, one of which is blackheads. Blackheads are quite stubborn, and they get in the way of smooth and healthy skin. Such obstructions are deeply embedded into the skin. It could be a struggle to get rid of blackheads. As they sink deeper into the skin, removing them can be painful. And one has to be careful because scarring may happen. Facials are an effective way of blackhead removal. But such a beauty regimen is often expensive. A teenager wouldn’t have the means yet to invest for such a treatment. The best way it seems for teenagers is to primarily avoid having blackheads. This can be done through good facial hygiene. But what really are blackheads and what causes them? Such a skin problem is the result of the increased secretion of sebum. As many well know, they are dark color formations which block the pores. As the formations accumulate in the pore, they harden and thus become toxic. This toxic substance is made up of blood, sebum and lymph fluid. It’s also in the form of a sticky gel. The exposed area changes in color and becomes dark or black due to corrosion. And the term is thus derived – blackhead. Blackheads are more often observed among teenagers. This is primarily due to the hormonal and physiological changes that they go through. Alterations in the hormonal processes cause increased sebum production. Such is why acne develops. Not only teenagers can suffer from acne, though- adults can, too. Blackheads are a form of acne in themselves, thus it is possible to control and prevent them. By following guidelines on skin and facial hygiene, many skin and acne problems can be warded off and dealt with. The following solutions could be helpful. One is to apply facial cleanser which is suitable for oily skin. An astringent would be helpful for this purpose. Gels or creams containing benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid and resorcinol would be effective as well. Along with a good facial wash or foam, these would be useful for treating blackheads. Other than these, there are alternative means for blackhead treatment and removal. Such alternative treatments are often inexpensive and yet equally effective. One of them, and the easiest is to take a sunbath. Skin peeling occurs during a sunbath which is why the pores are cleaned. This is among the natural modes for blackhead removal. In addition, the use of soaps of the face must be limited. As much as oil causes acne and other beauty dilemmas, some amount of it is needed by the skin. All these and more are healthy means of removing blackheads and having smooth, healthy skin. About the author. Thu, 27 Mar 2008 13:10:02 +0100 Restoring Healthy Skin With Acne Skin Care Products http://www.healthzine.org/Acne/acne-skin-care2 http://www.healthzine.org/Acne/acne-skin-care2 Acne can come to the point of being embarrassing. It can make one stand out, but not in a good way. But the fact is, acne is the most common of skin conditions and majority have been affected by it. Pimples as they are called often start manifesting during adolescence. It is that period of transition when significant hormonal changes take place. This hormonal imbalance can cause the cosmetic dilemma which is acne. What’s more, it may not only be present during adolescence, but during adulthood as well. Quite a large percentage is caught with this skin condition. And so the quest can be on- the search for the best acne skin care product. Acne skin care is essential for those bothered by pimples. Good facial hygiene may help, but an acne product is also crucial. It’s an essential combination of hygiene, routine and an effective product which makes up the best acne skin care. In search of the best product, the following tips may help. First, one has to know how the treatment product works. That way, one can determine whether it would suit their condition well. What is the treatment specifically for? And is it the one I need? These are the questions which should initially be asked. Then the ingredients- one should be keen about them. It’s best to determine what those are and whether they are safe. And also if one might have a hypersensitivity or reaction to them. For an effective acne treatment product, these three factors are crucial: it is endorsed by medical and herbal experts, it is capable of treating severe cases and it has no side effects. A better bet to suit these requirements are natural acne products. More often, natural products are not harsh. But they’re made up of herbal and organic ingredients which can address pimple problems. When looking for products to treat or ward off pimples, it’s best to be keen on what they are capable of doing. A good one would be that which is efficient for cleansing. Poor facial hygiene is often one of the causes of pimples, and so cleansing can counteract this. A cleansing product should be one which cleanses deeply. Dirt sinking into the pores must be eliminated. That way, dirt will not be clogged up and will not mix with sebum. And furthermore, the pimple-causing bacteria cannot do its job. Another factor to look for is oil-control and protection. Oil or sebum sets the perfect environment for this skin condition to develop. More so, bacteria has to be addressed- it has to be warded off and eliminated. Dead skin cells ought to be removed as well. Some may think that chemical-based products hold the answer for these. They may work, but there are drawbacks- they have side effects and they might be harsh. In the long run, they might cause damage. It certainly is counteractive to the results they want to produce. Chemical based products could also aggravate sensitive skin. A better option would be to look for something mild and gentle yet with potent treatment properties. Natural skin care products may be the better choice which has these elements paving the way for healthier, more beautiful skin. In cases when acne has become severe though, a dermatologist’s care may be required. About the author. Mon, 10 Mar 2008 07:41:51 +0100 Options For Acne Scar Treatment http://www.healthzine.org/Acne/acne-scar-treatment1 http://www.healthzine.org/Acne/acne-scar-treatment1 People almost always want to be regarded as beautiful or attractive or good looking. After all, it’s one of the best means to be noticed and acknowledged. Beautiful and healthy skin often makes one look more appealing. But many things, such as blemishes, can get in the way of healthy skin. Skin blemishes are quite numerous, and the most common of them are acne or pimples. Acne or pimples beset almost everybody at some points. It’s in fact the most common of skin conditions. “Pimples”, as they are most commonly called, and it affects one at varying degrees. It can range from something minor or negligible to moderate and severe which can be disturbing. Such condition poses no health threat but it can affect a person’s self-esteem. After all, acne has so much to do with one’s face and appearance and these can be a major issue. Much more so if they leave scars, and it can probably last all throughout one’s life. Unless of course one resorts to an acne scar treatment. There are quite several of them acne scar treatment procedures. They may be able to remedy those facial scars which blemish one’s appearance. For an acne scar treatment, there is primarily dermabrasion - among the most common and popular treatments. How is dermabrasion done? This procedure removes damaged skin and allows a new surface to show. It’s best that this is done by a skilled professional to ensure the best results. It takes an hour or so to perform dermabrasion. Then there is chemical peeling, regarded as the quickest form of acne scar treatment. Through a chemical peel, acid is applied on to the skin surface. That way, the damaged layer is removed, and a new surface would be revealed. This time, it would be smoother and pinkish and healthier looking. After the peel, though, there may be redness and swelling. The peeling takes more or less 15 minutes. Another method for removing scars is through laser surfacing. Laser is used to do away with the topmost scarred layer. Laser surfacing is relatively new, though, and more studies have to be done about it. Then there is subcision which is done by detaching the scar from the deeper tissue. A pool of blood would then flow under it thereby causing the scar to level. An economical procedure to smoothen the skin surface is through punch replacement. This is quite ideal for severe scarring cases. Through the punch replacement, deep pitted scars are removed with a hair transplant type punch. This is then replaced by a tissue graft, oftentimes from behind the ear. Quite an effective measure although healing may take several weeks. For all these treatments, it would be best that one consults a qualified and reliable dermatologist. After all, much can be at stake when it comes to this. It’s not at all vain to put so much due on one’s appearance. Provided of course it is within reasonable limits. But it is a manifestation of a healthy self-esteem when one takes care of themselves. Appearances may be shallow, but it is regarded with significance by most people. About the author. But one has to consider the risks involved when using an acne skin care product. For one thing, there are side effects to consider. Side effects are actually more common among chemical laden products. They may work, but in the long run they may prove to be harsh on the skin. On the other hand, natural products are more gentle. Their ingredients are more mild. Natural acne skin care products have properties which rejuvenate skin from the inside. On the outside, natural products protect the skin. For acne skin care, needed is a gentle cleansing soap to wash the face. A mild antibacterial bar may best serve this purpose. For men who need an acne skin care product along with shaving, they’d also need something gentle. This would especially be helpful for those who’ve had trouble shaving without injury. A gentle shaving product would address the need for an aid in grooming the face and beard. There is a vast option of acne skin care products almost everywhere. As much as information will help, trying the products themselves may be a better recourse. It is generally a hit and miss process when it comes to choosing the right product. But once the right product is chosen, it can make a difference in treating acne. A host of acne skin care products abound online. And they can deal with acne for all ages and of varying severity. Fri, 7 Dec 2007 15:53:59 +0100 Being Mindful Of “preventive” Acne Treatments http://www.healthzine.org/Acne/acne-treatments1 http://www.healthzine.org/Acne/acne-treatments1 Acne can be an annoying cosmetic threat. And it besets people in their teenage and early adult years. Such life stages are deemed to be crucial as they are when physical appearance holds so much bearing. The teenage and early adulthood years is when one is at the prime of their youth. When acne wreaks havoc on one’s aesthetic persona during these years, it can cause distress. When this happens, then it is anticipated that one can be in dire search of effective acne treatments. The best acne treatments are often those which aim on preventing acne. When one is in the crucial stage of being beset by acne, it is best that they take preventive measures. It has been perennially said that prevention is better than cure. Indeed it is, as when one prevents the onset of a problem, they can be spared from a whole lot of trouble. This can be said when resorting to acne treatments. The best acne treatments are those which are done with awareness. When one takes time in avoiding a health or beauty disaster, then that is an indication of being aware. It means that one is mindful enough of the consequences of being reckless. One of the best acne treatments which aim on preventing acne is good hygiene, By this, it means keeping the face and body clean. The face is not the only susceptible area for the development of acne. Body acne can also be a problem, and so facial acne treatments are just as important as body acne treatments. When it comes to prevention for acne treatments, it is best that one keeps the face and the body clean. For these acne treatments, there are countless of products available. Facial cleansers, toners, moisturizers, soaps and facial foams. They can be some of the acne treatments which avoid acne breakouts in the first place. When one resorts to these acne treatments, it is best that they choose natural products. Natural products work gently by rejuvenating from the inside and protecting from the outside. “Preventive” acne treatments also include a healthy diet. A healthy diet works in more ways than one. A healthy diet brings about overall health, one of them that of the skin. For healthy skin protected from the onslaught of acne, a high fiber diet would be best. Along with this, an effective acne treatment for a healthy diet is to exclude junk foods, chocolate, tea and coffee. The same can be said with fried foods, soda and foods rich in sugar and artificial sweeteners. These dietary changes are acne treatments which work encompassingly. Adding supplements to a healthy diet can also be a potent acne treatment. One of these forms of acne treatments is acidophilus. Acidophilus can be taken in capsule or liquid form 2 to 3 times a day. Supplements abundant in chromium, brewer’s yeast, zinc, Vitamins A, C and E also work in this regard. The same goes for Vitamins B6, B-5 selenium, Vitamin B-complex and essential fatty acids-rich supplements. Other than these, effective treatments for acne can be recommended by the doctor. One must take time in employing preventive acne treatments before acne gets to them first. About the author.
