Unlike other diseases this condition is characterized by groups of harmful behaviors that a person practices over time, which results in a decreased quality of life, which would later be the onset of chronic illnesses leading to premature deaths. And unless we choose to intentionally slow down and smell the sweetness of the air, and experience the more important things in our lives, blitz become our natural setting—thus this becomes our lifestyle. And though I’m grateful to the medical people, and their ability to step in during crisis moments; I am also extending a hand to those people who still lives in the edge, in the blitz. I am posing a challenge to you to start now, to begin applying the principles of a healthy lifestyle, to change how you live and reverse the years of past negative choices in order to achieve a new breakthrough in you. To start, Nutrition is very important in providing good health to the body. I call these natural remedies in fighting anti aging. So opt for foods that can fuel your body with an appropriate amount of vitamins and minerals. As homeopathic remedies, you need to moderate the amount of food you eat, and pay more attention to serving sizes. As I have mentioned in my e-book flabandfataway eat four times of smaller servings, with a 3-4 hour interval. In saving the glow of your face, skin care is very important, simply because the face is the first evidence when we talk of anti aging. We all want to stay active even as we age, but for some looking good is important too. Antioxidants are very important to face skin care, they can smooth lines, wrinkles and uneven skin tone. Rest is a refreshing way to ease stress. In the same vein, a day spa can ease off a full weeks work. Try releasing mental and emotional stress in spa’s and experience pampering like no other. Life giving rest can be found in massage centers, the place has life restoring music with a touch of care and peace. At the same time a good night’s rest can heal any bad experiences of the day. This is one very good anti aging regimen. And along with a healthy body, a good sign of anti aging is by keeping your brain sharp and agile. Research shows that one of the best ways to do this is by playing games, be it outdoors or indoors. Scrabble and Sudoku is a good mind game, but computer games as well as card games may exercise your brain as well. Always remember that when new neural pathways and connections are formed on a regular basis, your brain remains quick and flexible. Another sign of anti aging is through activities. This includes regular exercise and play. Walk in the park with friends can also enhance the mind, body and spirit as well as relationships. Activities are very good anti aging regimens, thus activity should be an integral part of your lifelong health. Wed, 8 Apr 2009 06:55:38 +0200 Living The Best Of Life Despite Aging Issues http://www.healthzine.org/Anti-aging/health-related-aging-issues http://www.healthzine.org/Anti-aging/health-related-aging-issues Not many people are excited about the idea of aging. But it is a fact that in the later years, physical youthful attributes fade away. The anxiety brought about by the thought that a person ages is in itself an issue. Fears and anxieties are among the aging issues the concerned populace is often beset with. Along with these are health and cosmetic issues. Everybody is well-aware that smooth, spotless and supple skin begins to lose its radiance as the years go by. There is the issue of gray and thinning hair in the same manner. More so, there are health related aging issues which are most often distressing. But despite these dilemmas, you ought to know as well - there is the concept aging gracefully, and you can make it a fact. To age gracefully primarily means taking better care of yourself. You may think that as you grow older, you simply have to let loose and let go. The prime years are over and you might have the notion that you should stop being particular about your health and/or beauty needs. But it is during the later years that you have to be more mindful of tending to yourself more. For one thing, you have to become more wary of what you eat. It means you have to watch your diet all the more. Among the predominant aging issues is excess pounds. Metabolism generally slows down as a person ages. Weight gained during the later years is said to be more life-threatening. By all means, a healthy diet is imperative. Chips and dip is best done away with. It is most apt and necessary to eat foods with more nutritional value. Fruits and veggies remain to be the prime recommendations, or low- fat foods. Canned and processed foods are best limited or eliminated, however. Your appetite is more or less not diminished when you age, but it is easier to gain weight. All the more is healthy eating essential, and it is best coupled with regular exercise. Then can you be able to deal with these inconvenient aging issues. Regular exercise significantly helps in alleviating the discomfort of age related issues. For regular exercise, you can do strength training and cardio workouts. These exercise programs boosts your heart health, keeping this vital organ strong and more flexible. Your muscles are strengthened as well, and you can ward off osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is among the most common issues many elders have to deal with. For regular exercise, you can work out 3 to 5 times a week, for 30 minutes every session. Being physically active makes you feel and look younger. So you’ve won half the battle against aging issues. Despite physical aging issues, don’t let life get you down—have fun! Now that you’re in the later years, you ought to realize that there’s more to life than working, eating and sleeping. Aging is when you should cherish life all the more—spending more time with friends and family, and for yourself. Going on trips and vacations with cherished relations can take your mind off the possible distress of aging issues. Or perhaps taking an interesting hobby, or joining a club. Aging doesn’t mean that life has lost its vibrance, but rather you having been ripened by time. Aging is the time when you should appreciate and love yourself all the more- because you deserve it. Fri, 6 Feb 2009 22:28:21 +0100 Younger Men Falling For Mature Women: Does This Make Sense? http://www.healthzine.org/Anti-aging/independent-and-mature-women http://www.healthzine.org/Anti-aging/independent-and-mature-women First off, there’s Demi Moore and Madonna. These characteristically strong, independent and mature women paired of with younger men. Then suddenly it has become the trend- a younger man and mature women tandem. And why’s that? What is it that a man would find attractive in an older woman? We have been used to the notion that youth equates to beauty, and this is what men salivate after. Then it seemed as if the tables have turned. Mature women now have their sparks on center stage. Does this mean in anyway that younger ladies are becoming extinct? Perhaps not at all, but rather older women are coming to the forefront in the dating game. Men actually find them attractive and the mature women seduction market is becoming lucrative. Even in forums and blogs, the brawny of the genders have spoken out on the issue. For one thing, many male of the species agreed that mature women exude exotic sexuality. This may not be surprising as these women have been ripened by experience. They do know their way in the bedroom. And they are known to be wild in matters concerning the sexual. Despite the age difference, an older woman may still have ardent passion in sex. A younger man on the other hand has the energy to keep up and be exposed to more learning experience. Mature women, having gained sophistication and independence, are ready to explore the world. Men would love to go for the ride of the excitement. It is a different scenario with a mature partner, as some men would attest. Whereas younger ladies seek security and would want to be pampered, it’s the other way around with mature women. It is the man who ends up being pampered and cared for with motherly affection. And they say younger men can be such babies in so many ways. Younger ladies often end up as somewhat of a burden for their partners, what with tantrums and being somewhat dependent. But for mature ones, they don’t need anybody to define them. They are secure of their identity and exude more stability. Then of course this brings the issue of men simply playing around with mature partners. They can be in the partnership for mere fun and experience, or even for financial gain. Mature women are often stable when it comes to finances, too. But it can be a case of give and take. Wherein the woman gains physical favors from a younger man. While the younger man gets to have financial gain from the set-up. Or in some cases, the relationship can have substance. After all, affection does not primarily concern age, but is rather a matter of coming to an understanding. So how can a younger man win an older woman’s attention, or else affection. Be it younger women or older ones, what remains to be attractive in a man is being a gentleman. Times have changed, and in the dating jungle, nobody really knows the predator from the prey. Fri, 9 Jan 2009 07:48:06 +0100 Look 5 To 10 Years Younger: Easy Ways On How To Look Younger http://www.healthzine.org/Anti-aging/how-to-look-younger http://www.healthzine.org/Anti-aging/how-to-look-younger Looking for ways on how to look younger? Not many of us welcome the idea of aging. Some even find it scary. Well it is indeed scary. Just imagine the wrinkles on your face, the lost youthful glow you once had, and the fun activities you used to do when you were younger. No matter how unwelcome this idea is, still it can’t be avoided. It’s a part of being human. But this doesn’t mean however that you have to live with it till the last day of your life. If you can’t avoid aging, you can at least slow it down. Don’t make it appear on your looks. Here are some ways on how to look younger. Eating has something to do with how fast you age. In fact, according to many studies, one of the causes of aging is the damage in our cells caused by free radicals. These free radicals can be obtained from the foods we eat. Fruits and vegetables are popular in fighting aging because they have many nutrients that prevent these free radicals from harming our cells. As much as you can, eat foods that are rich in anti oxidants. Be mindful of what you’re eating. Establish a healthy diet and make it a habit to eat healthy. Don’t forget to have a regular exercise. Everybody knows how important exercise is to our body. It keeps our muscles stronger; gets rid of our body of toxins; and a lot more. Despite of the benefits that a regular exercise can give to our well being, many of us still failed to have it. So make this a part of your daily routine. Keep yourself fully hydrated too. Drink plenty of water. Water prevents skin dryness thus preventing the rapid formation of wrinkles and fine lines. Like exercise, it also flushes out toxins from our body. You may not immediately notice these ways on how to look younger work for you, but you’ll definitely reap their benefits in the long run. Love your skin. Pamper it with skin care products like lotions and anti-aging creams. But don’t just use any lotion or anti-aging creams you find in health shops. Be sure that they contain no harmful ingredients and will not give you any allergic reactions. Also equally important is relaxation and enough sleep. Don’t stress yourself too much. If you feel tired, then have a break even for just a few minutes. Have enough sleep because it is only while you sleep when your body can completely rest thus giving your body cells the time to repair themselves. Another way on how to look younger is to update your hairstyle. Yes, your hairstyle can either make you look younger or older. Choose the one that will suit you taking into consideration the shape of your face, the color and the cut. So visit your favorite hairstylist and have that younger looking hairstyle. Along with hairstyle is your makeup. Light makeup usually gives you a healthy glow. Again just take into consideration your age and skin color. Lastly, be fashionable. Being fashionable does not mean that you have to wear those expensive designer outfits. Wear ones which will enhance your beauty. Be particular of the color and the style. But don’t forget when you’re going to wear it. In other words, dress according to what the occasion calls for. Indeed, aging can’t be avoided but there is so much more you can do to slow it down. Take heed on these few things on how to look younger and look 5 to 10 years younger than your age. About the author. Thu, 13 Nov 2008 06:35:57 +0100 “ I Am Younger Than You; I Am Ageless” http://www.healthzine.org/Anti-aging/ageless http://www.healthzine.org/Anti-aging/ageless How old are you? – Aren’t we fond of asking this question. Ours is a society which is so fascinated with age. We meet a person we take interest in, and one of the basic factors we consider is their age. What seems to be so significant with this aspect of a person’s character? Everybody loves to play the comparison game. Our human characteristic makes it inherent for us to analyze things by comparing and contrasting. We compare what we have to those with our neighbors’. Women can’t help valuating how they look with other women, or with celebrities they see on television for that matter. “This is what I have, what do you have?”. We then base our judgment of that person or ourselves on the conclusion. What does this have to do with emphasis given to a persons age? When we ask a person how old they are, it often manifests a psychological predisposition to compare. We compare that person’s life to known benchmarks such as milestones or a set of standard for accomplishment based on age. We might even be comparing our own accomplishment with that of the person we are asking. Or else, we tend to project an expectation of where that person should be in their life based on their age. For instance, at the “age” of 32, a woman should be married and have kids. At 38, a man should be established in his career and have a family. Have you given it a thought on how much pressure this can impose? You base your value as a person on standards beyond you. Other people’s standards, the society’s standards. This leaves a person striving, struggling to keep up. And the benchmark escalates and escalates- pleasing other people is a neverending feat. Only to end up in futility. Hence the preoccupation with age as a measure. The older you get, the more you have to do, the more you have to be, the more you have to accomplish. Because that’s how it is supposed to be. So celebrating another birthday begins to carry with it added responsibility, having more expectations to live up to. That’s why there are people who seem more disgruntled rather than delighted in celebrating their so-called birthdays. "Age”, as it moves forth carries with it a certain burden. Because "age" is embodied by a numerical representation. And the numerical value of age represents the yardstick of how a person should live their life. Then we live our lives according to that yardstick until it has become a chamber which encloses us. Isn’t that suffocating? Rather than being contained by standards imposed from the outside, a person should break free. If numerical age serves to be a bubble limiting them, all it takes is a prick. “Age” will no longer be, but rather one becomes ageless. And being ageless means living your life according to what pleases you and what makes you happy. You become the person that you are according to your what you feel is right. Your age is according to how you feel. And even if others would regard you as “aging”, you become an eternal youth. Why? It is because you are ageless. You let yourself be, you are free- unbound- and enjoying limitless possibilities of being happy and fulfilled. About the author. Mon, 15 Sep 2008 05:17:45 +0200 Youthful Beauty By Way Of Oxygen Therapy http://www.healthzine.org/Anti-aging/oxygen-therapy http://www.healthzine.org/Anti-aging/oxygen-therapy Many people connote youth with beauty, and so the wish to remain that way- young. But a person can only stay young after a significant period of time until aging sets in. And when aging and its signs start to creep, they are filled with dread. It is as if aging is a disease which will strip them of youth, and therefore beauty and therefore a good quality of life. So came the need for anti aging therapies and procedures and products. Industries involved have devised countless of these to cater to the demand. One anti aging product appears on the scene, followed by another, until there is a deluge of them. Each one has their own claims and magical formulas which promise to deliver youthful beauty, or to bring back the suppleness and vibrance the years have taken. The same goes for anti aging therapies and procedures offering drastic results. When it comes to restoring youthful beauty, oxygen therapy has created quite a stir. Oxygen therapy has incited the interest of the populace concerned- the beauty conscious and the aging. The media made the public aware of this new sort of therapy, and many can’t help become fascinated. After all, it involves oxygen. And isn’t oxygen that which gives life and healing and energy? What about oxygen for beauty? Wouldn’t that make sense as well? We all need oxygen- it is everything around us and it is breathed in by us. Oxygen is the ultimate ingredient to support life. But even more so, this element is crucial in helping cells reproduce, regenerate and survive. It even guards against harmful bacteria and disease thereby protecting the body. Science has shown that skin cells are the last to receive oxygen which is breathed in. During the onset of aging, delivery of oxygen to skin cells begin to diminish. It slows down, so to speak. Cell regeneration is then hampered. What then happens is that the skin begins to “age”- drying and wrinkling develops. The skin becomes thinner and brown spots can start to appear. Dull skin can become a common issue for many people at this point. What oxygen therapy does is combat these signs of aging. How? The therapy delivers a steady and concentrated stream of the substance to the skin. Along with this procedure is the application of oxygen-rich skin cream or serum. The so-called facial can only be soothing, relaxing, and it is suited for all types of skin. What this treatment promises is to make the skin feel and look years younger. It’s because it nourishes and hydrates, and brings about renewal. In a single 30-minute therapy, fine lines and blemishes can virtually disappear. Metabolic health of the skin is enhanced and new cell growth is promoted. Blood vessel functioning is also boosted. As a result, blood flow is improved which in turn allows for the body to metabolize and absorb nutrients better. By these nutrients, it includes vitamins, minerals, proteins and those which are vital for health, beauty and longevity. Younger looking skin can be had with oxygen therapy because it stimulates the production of collagen and elastin fibers. Six weekly treatments followed by monthly facials are recommended for the therapy to be optimally effective. And investment of time and resources is involved, but one who ardently aims for beauty can only willingly submit. About the author. Tue, 22 Jul 2008 06:27:10 +0200 Slowing Down The Aging Process From Within http://www.healthzine.org/Anti-aging/aging-process http://www.healthzine.org/Anti-aging/aging-process Aging is bound to happen to everybody in its own due time. Upon its approach, many people may become anxious. There is a slowing down of the body and its processes as the aging process takes place. “Growing old” as it is called, and for some it causes much concern. When somebody says a person is “growing old”, it is associated with a gradual disability due to physiological dysfunctioning. The modern concept of growing old is that it can be contended with with medical action. But how does the aging process take place, or what really causes it? The most influencing factors in the aging process are a person’s lifestyle and genetics. By genetics, it means the end part of the chromosome, or the telomer shortens. The shortening of the telomer is largely dependent on how the person lives. In a person’s lifestyle, physical activity and calorie intake play a crucial role in the speeding up or slowing down of the aging process. If you have abundant intake of calories, especially through unhealthy eating, it is said that you will age faster. Much has been said about healthy eating and having controlled intake of calories. This will greatly aid in lengthening your age as well as help ward off the onset of diseases. The real anti aging therapy then is to eat healthily and engage in physical activity. Again the basics of good health- regular exercises and a healthy diet. This fundamental health measure has been proven to be vital in fighting the effects of the years, and that includes lessening the chances of you suffering from threatening diseases. But yet, there is a common perception of “anti-aging” which continues to expand. When ads and commercials say they have products which can make you “stay young”, it merely means keeping the skin smooth and maintaining the color of your hair. There are other and more important requirements to be fulfilled in a real anti aging therapy. First, it has to be able to modify the process down to the cells and the biochemical system. Second, it must be able to sustain good health and reduce the likelihood of disability. And finally, staying young doesn’t only improve the external appearance, or merely what’s on the outside. This is what products in the market simply do nowadays – focus on the exterior, or simply mask the symptoms. More often, they don’t deal with the real cause. Experts do not agree with this concept of anti-aging, nor does the FDA in the US approve of such products as the best means for addressing “growing old dilemmas”. Should these products be considered as real anti-aging therapy products? The answer is NO, because all they do is mask the symptoms and results are not likely to last long. For such products to be effective, they have to be coupled with a healthy lifestyle. There has been a long debate and controversy regarding this subject. Researches have been going on in the scientific society to slow down the effects of the years. But a medical technology has yet to be invented to do such a purpose correctly and accurately. Mon, 23 Jun 2008 05:41:03 +0200 Inside And Out Defense For Aging Skin http://www.healthzine.org/Anti-aging/aging-skin http://www.healthzine.org/Anti-aging/aging-skin Growing old doesn’t mean it’s the end of the world. If you acknowledge that it is inevitable, chances are that your anxieties about it would not be so disturbing. Aging as it is called, and the best way to deal with it is to have the proper attitude. Of knowing that you can still be happy despite not having youthful strength and looks. And most of all, in making the most of your aging years. Having a healthy attitude includes taking care of yourself. We all know that growing older will take away most of our physical strength and stamina. But remember that despite having weaker knees, you can still keep the enthusiasm of your heart and mind alive. Then there is aging skin which would not look so supple and smooth or flawless like it did when you were younger. Not many people are excited about the idea of aging skin, but it’s something that you and me are bound to have in time. Benign and pre-cancerous growths can be more apt to develop on aging skin. Like for instance, seborrheic and actinic keratoses. As much as it is inevitable, certain factors can cause speedier aging of the skin. Environmental insults, stress and sun exposure are some of them. So is an unhealthy lifestyle which is why you should be mindful about it. But the biggest factor to dry and dull wrinkled skin is sun exposure. As we age, our face becomes more prone to sag. Laxity, enlarged pores and wrinkling would be a common problem. A prevalent condition during the later years is also rocasea, which is a chronic case of adult acne. To many people, aging skin is not attractive. The beauty industry is well aware of this, and so they have devised countless of products to cater to the demand of the aging market. Manufacturers have created a barrage of magic remedies which claim to offer immediate results, some which are too good to be true. But as often said, “if it’s too good to be true, then it probably is”, so you’ve got to be wary. Learn to discern the facts from the hype. Remaining youthful primarily has to do with your attitude. The first thing that can make you grow old faster is your mind, or how you think. Rather than getting depressed about growing old, try to be proactive. Make means to be healthy, like being physically active and eating healthy. Take time for your skin care regimen as well- it’s as important now as in your younger years. You can choose from a long line of anti-aging products. Supplements can help boost your defense, too. But more than looking for treatments, start doing something now- by living a lifestyle which can prevent the physical ravages of time. Frequently moisturizing your face can restore tired and fragile skin. It’ll give you a fresher, smoother and moister feeling instead. A good option would be Vitamin D moisturizer. It helps in reducing wrinkles by causing more production of collagen. Try incorporating ample antioxidants into your diet, too. Topical antioxidants can also help boost your anti aging regimen. Vitamin D is crucial to your health and beauty at this point, so you’ve got to have sufficient amounts of it. Vitamin D supplementation is a good way of replenishing the nutrients needed for your health and beauty. And you know the damage that the sun can do, so be on guard by slathering on the SPF 30 or 40 when you are exposed. It’s inside and out defense which can make the later years of your life more rewarding. Rather than being neglectful, growing old means you have to love and take care of yourself all the more. Tue, 27 May 2008 14:54:00 +0200 Aging Gracefully: A Right You Have Earned http://www.healthzine.org/Anti-aging/aging-gracefully http://www.healthzine.org/Anti-aging/aging-gracefully Aging is not so much of a misfortune. When one takes time to look and see, it is a privilege. Through the years, you have finally come to terms with yourself. You have come to know who and what you are through your experiences. Adversity has given you the right to establish yourself. It may not so much be on a grand scale like being rich or famous. But character-wise, you have a solid sense of who you are. True, the years might have stripped off your rosy cheeks and supple skin. Your youthful strength and energy may have diminished. But you have gained a treasure in return. And that is yourself and your dignity. If you take time to revel in these, then you are aging gracefully. You can now lean back and say to yourself “I’ve had the best of life”. It doesn’t mean at all that all you had were good times. But instead, life had given you the best of wisdom, knowledge and learning. Most often, these are learned when times had been challenging. You now come to the point when you also say “I am a survivor”. You stand strong knowing that you’ve weathered the storms of living. Your children now have the utmost respect for you. They value all that you’ve done for them. The effort, and perhaps the sacrifices. You cherish your most prized achievement- having raised your children the right way. As your life is now near completion, you revel in the thought that you have begot children who in turn begot their children. But more than giving them existence, you gave them life and you have molded them. The sons and daughters that you have perfected with the help of time and experience. It’s not at all to say that you merely gave them comfort and the finer things in life. It’s because that you played a crucial role in their beings. You may not have had the perfect life, but you’ve chosen to accept and learn. That is aging gracefully. And eventually you let go- you realize that you might no longer be as attractive. And yet your beauty has become more of the essence. It has become more substantial. That’s strength of character and spirit. The beauty of the soul which matters the most. Aging gracefully is accepting the inevitability of death yet cherishing the best of life. You begin to appreciate all that you have- your partner, your family, yourself. You begin to see the folly of youth and you smile. You’ve been there once and you know- everything has a time of its own. Birth, growth, learning, perfection. You simply let life be as you’ve had the best of it. And now here you are- gray hair, wrinkled skin and weaker knees. But with this picture of you, you can stand proud. You carry within you life, learning and wisdom. This is aging gracefully- you come to so many realizations and you choose to accept and acknowledge. Choose to age gracefully and you will not so much be disturbed by old age or death. And in the end, you can only say that living had been worthwhile and you can smile and let be. About the author. Yes, fast food is affordable and convenient, but do you know the consequence of having too much of it? You will be at risk for threatening diseases such as heart disease, diabetes and obesity. These diseases are major factors which contribute to ill health especially when aging. Fast food is high in carbohydrates, sugar, fats and cholesterol, that’s why. It will be easy for you to develop an illness/illnesses with too much of its consumption. Stick to the basics of eating healthy and exercising regularly. Eat fruits and vegetables and whole grains. Try to be physically active by exercising regularly. It doesn’t have to be heavy exercise- it only has to be regular. Brisk walking for 20 minutes a day will do, or swimming and cycling. Fri, 18 Apr 2008 07:57:22 +0200 Wrinkle Treatment The Natural Way http://www.healthzine.org/Anti-aging/wrinkle-treatment1 http://www.healthzine.org/Anti-aging/wrinkle-treatment1 Aging is an inevitable fact, and everybody is bound to go through with it. Signs of aging would eventually occur, and they inflict their ravages on the skin. Some of them can be skin discoloration and pigmentation, sagging and wrinkles. Wrinkles are especially common as one ages. Many people are quite in search of the best wrinkle treatment. You yourself may be asking what the best wrinkle treatment solution is. Well, there are anti-wrinkle products, and quite a lot of them. But did you know that there are natural remedies for a wrinkle treatment as well? For one thing, you can try to manage stress in your day to day living. Sure, stress is not to be avoided, but it has to be dealt with the proper way. That way, stress will not be damaging to your skin and to your health. Stress relief measures such as meditation and deep breathing are two of the ways in which stress would be prevented from being damaging. If you’re serious about your wrinkle treatment, then you’d better stop or not smoke. Smoking causes cell oxidation, which in turn would cause the onset of wrinkles. Better stay away from smoking if you don’t want wrinkles on your skin. A good and healthy diet is also a means for an effective natural wrinkle treatment. As much as possible, stay on the raw side, or something closer to it. A good and healthy diet may slow up aging. You may ask why. Well, primarily, raw and healthy foods contain ample amounts of antioxidants. And antioxidants by all means slow up cell oxidation. Now cell oxidation speeds up aging right? This process can be hampered by antioxidants. Fruits and vegetables and other whole foods contain lots of them. Processed food on the other hand is among the worst choices you can incorporate in your diet. They may contain ingredients and elements which might be damaging to your health in the long run. And take for instance white flour. White flour and anything with it is quite highly processed. So stay away from processed food as much as possible, and closer to the raw side for a good bet against wrinkles. You ought to have the proper balance of omega 3 and 6 fatty acids as well. They are among the keys to a good wrinkle treatment. However, due to so much exposure to processed food, your diet might be deficient in omega 3 and 6 fatty acids. And this is where supplementation comes in to augment your natural wrinkle treatment. For an anti aging solution, you might also try virgin coconut oil. Virgin coconut oil when consumed or applied on to the skin can be an effective solution against wrinkles. Virgin coconut oil stops the formation of free radicals which lead to cell oxidation. All these said, now you can find natural ways for dealing with wrinkles. Anti-wrinkle products out there may be laden with much chemicals. Remember that anything you put on your skin is absorbed by it, and then in enters the blood stream. Now you wouldn’t want chemicals to get into your system, would you? Go for a better option- go natural for your anti-aging and wrinkle solution. About the author. Mon, 31 Mar 2008 06:49:32 +0200 Anti-aging Skin Care For Aging With Beauty http://www.healthzine.org/Anti-aging/anti-aging-skin-care2 http://www.healthzine.org/Anti-aging/anti-aging-skin-care2 Time does not only give growth and experience, but wrinkles, age spots and skin sagging as well. And these are but to name a few. Such is why some people find the idea of aging unpleasant, or even disturbing. They may regard it as a fiend which would take away their youth. Well the years may take away youth, but youthfulness can last a lifetime. It’s all a matter of attitude, they say, especially when it comes to aging. So rather than being overcome by dread because of such an anticipated phenomenon, one can instead inculcate a better attitude and perception towards themselves. One should be mindful to live healthily still, and think healthily, of loving oneself more. A healthy self-esteem has to be constant, even when one ages. A manifestation of such would be to be able to take care of oneself, of keeping it looking good and healthy and presentable. And this is where anti aging skin care comes in- to pamper and love oneself despite growing old. The ravages of time are most often inflicted on the skin. Initially there would be fine lines, and then wrinkles. For some, age spots may start to appear, or even discoloration. Eventually, there would be sagging, and even more. With technology though, and the help of the beauty and cosmetic industry, these signs of aging can be retarded. A wide variety of antiaging solutions are available in the current market. Among them are cosmetic procedures and anti aging skin care products. Anti aging skin care products are available for both men and women. And how can one make the best use of them? The key is to find which products suit one’s skintype and level of need. Men and women have different skintypes, so it’s best to use products which are male and female specific. Men and women have different levels of skincare needs. Men have thicker and tougher skin while for women it’s softer and more delicate. What types of anti aging skin care solutions then can be resorted to? For one thing there are creams, lotions, emulsions, peels, masks, toners and even injections. These skincare options can help rejuvenate and refresh and protect the skin making one look younger. Every person has different skintypes. Owing to these, they may have different skincare needs and products they use can have different results. Other factors which contribute to this are varied levels of damage and sensitivity. Manufacturers have devised a wide array of products for these beauty dilemmas. Ingredients to look for in anti aging skin care products are vitamins such as topical A, C, E and D. Herbs and essential oils are also effective components. Other anti aging skin care products on the other hand contain biotechnology elements. With these antiaging solutions to choose from, one can nourish and care for themselves despite aging. One can still glow and stand out despite being mature. What’s more, that beauty may not only be on the surface but in one’s character as well. One may not appear youthful in appearance anymore, but they can remain to radiate with inner youthfulness. Wed, 12 Mar 2008 04:34:13 +0100 On The Defense With Anti-aging Vitamins http://www.healthzine.org/Anti-aging/anti-aging-vitamins http://www.healthzine.org/Anti-aging/anti-aging-vitamins What are we without nutrition – basically nonexistent at all. Nutrition is what keeps us alive, and more than being alive, it gives us life. By this, it means zest and energy. Vibrance and youthfulness and even beauty. When it comes to youthfulness and beauty in relation to nutrition, one may well think of anti-aging vitamins. There are people who don’t like the idea of aging. So they want to turn back the clock, or to restore their youthful radiance. That’s perfectly understandable, and taking care of oneself despite the years is healthy. It is a manifestation of having a healthy self-esteem. So what are some of the best measures for an antiaging regimen? Proper nutrition or vitamins or supplements is one. There are countless of anti-aging vitamins in the current market. This is of course in resonance to the demand for them. There are good quality ones which stand true to their claims and there are bogus ones as well. That’s why the buyer has to beware – “caveat emptor”. Lucky for one who has found the right, authentic and truthful anti-aging vitamins. They could then be on their way to glowing and being beautiful despite the years. But it’s actually not as quick or as easy as that. It takes time for anti-aging vitamins to work. Components which can be useful of such sort of supplements can be Vitamins A, B-6, B-12, Vitamin C and E and selenium, beta carotene and folic acid. They can aid so much for proper nutrition to combat the signs of aging. Nutritional support through supplementation is actually necessary these days. So many factors contribute to ill health and a weakened immune system. They wreak havoc not only to the health, but beauty as well. And health and beauty, they are essential for well-being. Another factor which can get in the way of beauty and wellness is also the diet. It is insufficient in essential nutrients not to mention that it can actually contain toxic elements which may be harmful to the health. The current diet is mostly composed of refined and processed food. When regularly eaten, it can cause the production of free radicals in the body. And free radicals, they lead to one looking older with wrinkles and all. Such is why free radicals have to be combated with antioxidants. And antioxidants, they are integral to anti-aging vitamins. One can derive antioxidants not only from supplements, but from food as well. For instance, fruits and vegetables – they are good sources or antioxidants. Natural food sources such as dark green leafy vegetables (mustard greens and kale, etc.) and vegetables such as carrots and so on and fruits like apples and oranges and the like. They contain ample amounts of anti-aging vitamins. Fresh fruit juices, too. It’s all about eating right and living right for antiaging. That way, one will be at the peak of health. And good health has so much to do with feeling good and looking good. So despite the years and old age and all, one can enjoy wellness. One may not even feel like they are growing old at all. It is all about living right and thinking right – having the right attitude – to deal with the reality that the years may bring. About the author. Wed, 20 Feb 2008 17:00:16 +0100 Aging With Grace, Aging With Zest http://www.healthzine.org/Anti-aging/aging-with-grace http://www.healthzine.org/Anti-aging/aging-with-grace Not many people welcome the idea of aging. In fact, there are those who detest it, as if aging is a dreaded disease. But can one ever escape from aging when the time is due? Definitely not - nobody can beat aging. Why contend with the course of nature when nature has the ultimate say. It is then best to accept the reality of aging. When one is open and ready to this inevitable reality, then they are said to be aging with grace. Aging with grace is actually a wonderful thing. Aging with grace is more of a mental perspective rather than obsessing about youth. Obsessing about youth is perhaps one of the most disheartening crusade in which one could engage in. Youth is fleeting and temporal and along with it often comes folly. Hardly does being wise go with being young. What does this have to do with aging with grace? Aging with grace is accepting that aging is a blessing. This can rather be a disagreeable notion to accept. Aging may be connoted with loss of youth, but it doesn’t necessarily mean loss of beauty. After all, beauty is not exclusive to youth. Wine tastes better as it ages. So it is with men and women who have aged. Time has ripened them with wisdom and good judgment. When one acknowledges this, then it is possible- aging with grace. Everybody is bound to face up with aging. So it’s best to be prepared for it. Aging with grace means being content with the idea that the years will fade away youthfulness. Along with this though, the years also have something valuable to offer- understanding. Aging with grace means looking back at the years and valuing the lessons they have taught. Aging with grace is being grateful to experience for having molded one’s character. Aging with grace means loving oneself all the more despite wrinkles and skin sagging or age spots. Aging with grace means taking care of oneself all the more. It is thinking that “Time has made me stronger rather than becoming helpless”. One should embrace the idea of growing old gracefully. Yes, one can resort to anti-aging products and anti-aging supplements. Take more time for exercise and regularly visiting the doctor. These are the physical aspects of aging with grace. But attitude, this has so much to do with growing old gracefully. It is thinking that “I have had the best of life and my experiences are my treasures. I have come this far despite the storms which life had given me”. Growing old gracefully is acknowledging and accepting, loving the person that time has molded. It is then that one can still live with zest and enthusiasm despite aging. It is in looking forward still that the coming days have more to offer. Aging is not the end of living. It is in fact its culmination, when life’s purpose has come to fruition. One can then sow what they have reaped out of the years. Lending to others what life has given them. With this, aging can only be fulfilling with no room for regrets. About the author. Tue, 29 Jan 2008 09:26:13 +0100 Ageless Beauty With Anti- Aging Skin Care http://www.healthzine.org/Anti-aging/anti-aging-skin-care1 http://www.healthzine.org/Anti-aging/anti-aging-skin-care1 There are those who find aging to be a disturbing reality. Losing one’s youthful appearance. Supple skin and rosy cheeks. The radiance of being young. But whether one likes it or not, aging is bound to happen. It can only be then that aging should be faced head on with the proper attitude. Along with this is taking care of oneself, such as through an anti-aging skin care regimen. At any age during adolescence and adulthood, skin care is a necessity. Not only to look good, but as part of proper hygiene. Skin care is also a manifestation of a healthy self-esteem. This should go on until one ages, that’s why anti-aging skin care should be a priority. Anti-aging skin care is not about holding on to youth or obsessing about it. Anti-aging skin care is accepting the fact that aging is a reality, and that one can only make the most of it. Anti-aging skin care is acknowledging that the aging process is inevitable, yet one can have life despite it. Anti-aging skin care is loving oneself despite growing old. That can be a way of putting aging and anti-aging skin care into proper perspective. And it can go a long way in living a fulfilling and healthy life. Of coping with the signs of aging, and of welcoming aging as much as it is bound to happen. There are countless tips for an anti-aging skin care regimen. Tips about anti-aging products, cosmetic procedures, and an anti-aging lifestyle. Most of them share so many tips in common. For one thing, there are those who say that smoking can speed up aging. And that is true. Smoking allows chemicals from the cigarette to penetrate into the skin. And those chemicals are harmful. They are toxic. They dry up the skin and the skin then becomes prone to develop wrinkles easily. When one is in the habit of smoking, chances are they will have wrinkles prematurely. What’s more, smoking can make anti-aging skin care products ineffective. Regardless of how expensive the products are, or how conscientiously they are applied, they may not work. That is the havoc smoking can cause. Inherent to anti-aging skin care is also a healthy diet. By this it means consuming ample amounts of fruits and vegetables. And so is drinking copious amounts of water and fresh juices. A healthy diet keeps one healthy, and being healthy means having beautiful skin. It can be as basic as that. Anti-aging skin care can also be boosted with anti-aging supplements, especially those which contain anti-oxidants. They can neutralize the damage that free radicals do, such as the onset of wrinkles. When it comes to anti-aging products, those which are natural may be the better option. Natural anti-aging products work by rejuvenating from the inside and protecting on the outside. Such products are not likely to have side effects, too. Anti-aging skin care is best if it is natural. That way, it is safe and will not likely to have consequences in the future. Anti-aging is so much of a mindset coupled with a regimen to keep one beautifully ageless inside and out. Only then can aging be fulfilling rather than being disturbing. About the author.
