Home Sweet And Nifty Mobile Homes

Tags: , ,

are commonly referred to as manufactured homes. They are generally residential structures which can be moved from one place to another. Mobile homes were initially called trailer homes, and from such basic beginnings, the trend in mobile homes has certainly come a long way. Modern mobile home models now have more intricate designs which not only add to their appeal but their functionality as well. To the amateur eye, modern mobile home designs may appear no different than conventional cement, brick and mortar homes. To the undiscerning, it can now be tricky to distinguish a mobile home from a permanent residence.

This, owing to upgrades and modifications in mobile home design. In the past years, mobile homes were classified as movable property and were therefore taxed as vehicles. This former trend led to a spurt in people and families buying them as they could save much on taxes. But as modification took place in designs of mobile homes, newer home models have actually become permanent structures. Such homes now remain on one location all throughout after being assembled. Newer home models no longer have wheels, but their transportation, if needed, requires that they are dismantled and assembled and erected again. Such changes led to amendments in taxation process as well.

In the current setting, mobile homes are categorized as real properties with taxes levied on them accordingly. The Housing and Urban Development Code of the US, known as the HUD Code sets the standard for . On June 15, 1976, this code was effectuated and it put a clear distinction of norms for the manufacturing of mobile homes. Fireproofing, building standards, heating and air conditioning as well as plumbing and electricity systems were some of the factors specifically delineated in the HUD Code. Other than rules concerning those, a mobile home with a garage or a shed has to meet certain standards as well.

Typically, there are two kinds of mobile homes- singlewide and doublewide. In rare cases, there are triple wide mobile homes. A single wide home measures less than 16 feet wide when assembled. Double wide models on the other hand have a width of more than 24 feet. Single wide homes are transported by truck trailers to the designated site and they are comprised of single pieces. As for double wide mobile homes, they are consisted of two parts which are then put together on the site. When double wide mobile homes are improperly assembled, they can be prone to leakages, which is why more people have reservations concerning these models.

One advantage of double wide mobile homes is that they are of course more spacious. Very scarcely, triple wide mobile homes are also manufactured. One can expect triple wide to be obviously the most spacious of the three. A triple wide home is immensely spacious. It can provide enough space for as many as five bedrooms as well as three bathrooms. A person or a family can choose from any of the three mobile home models according to which suits their needs, taste, pleasure and budget.
