Inner Knowing Guidelines For Physical Activity

To attain optimum health and well being, it is well within everybody’s knowledge that the foremost measures to be taken are adherence to a well-balanced diet and a regular exercise regimen. A well-balanced diet is essential for adequate nutrient nourishment for the body and to sustain energy for exercise or . Physical activity, on the other hand promotes better functioning of the body’s vital organs and processes. As much as this may sound simple, regular physical activity for a majority can become a monotonous and tedious effort. Compelling the body to be on the move often needs initiative and motivation.

This is often aggravated by the so many rules and guidelines that have to be kept to when it comes to physical activity. For instance, there are sources that say that you need to consult the doctor before initiating physical activity. Or that you should do this sort of physical activity for X minutes at X times a day and attain an X rate of heartbeat. There seems to always be something to arduously strive for when doing , thus it is not wonder that a majority of individuals eventually slacken in this endeavor. The fact is, being physically active to promote overall health need not be so laborious.



As physical activity is a necessity that needs to be incorporated into a lifestyle, it has to be done willingly, and yes, effortlessly. To achieve such is actually very basic. Follow your inner knowing, what your heart says you want to do. This way, physical activity is done with zest and enthusiasm. For instance, this day your inner knowing says you want to jog. Then do so for 30 minutes or so. And the next day you decide on golfing. Then go ahead and bask in the moment of the physical activity. Then one day you may feel like walking.

An hour or so may be enough and while walking, you get to breathe fresh air and feel a sense of communion with nature. This day you can do light physical activity for 30 or 40 minutes. Or the next day you can do vigorous ones for 15 minutes. Follow your inner knowing as this is what your hearts says and this is what you will be happy doing. Being physically active then becomes less wearisome and there is no need for strenuous exertion yet it delivers benefits for the body, the mind and the spirit. As with any endeavor, you have to love what you do.

So it is with physical activity. That way, you do it with pleasure. When it comes to physical activity, act on the moment and be in the moment. By doing so, being physically active becomes an inherent aspect of living as it is not seen as an obligation, a task or a duty. There is no doubt that being physically active has everything to do with a better quality of life. Aside from doing activities alone and taking advantage of it to do some personal reflection and cultivating spirituality, it can also be done with your partner, with your friends or with your colleagues.

The benefits then become multifaceted- personal and social. One need not go to great lengths to achieve healthy and successful personal and social relationships as doing physical activity in varied and creative ways can do it. The path to overall health and well-being must be a heartfelt one. With the guidance of your inner knowing in endeavors like , you get to savor the moment and gain rewards for the mind, the body and the spirit as well.
