These symptoms can be irritability and tiredness among others. Then there is also the drastic method called cold turkey. Only 5% of smokers find success with the cold turkey method. With the cold turkey method, one immediately tries to quit smoking, without any preparation. Smokers have to try this over and over again to be successful. Apparently this is not at all easy. The cold turkey doesn’t make use of gums or patches.

Smokers who do this often experience withdrawal symptoms, and when they do, they may drink lots of water or take a quick walk. They may also count from 10 to 0 when having a nicotine craving, or talk about their struggle to a friend. Anything to divert their attention and to stop them from lighting a cigarette. It takes resolve and patience when one wants to quit the smoking habit. But for all it’s worth, it can spare one of ill health and early death.
